UPDATE: unfortunately, dropping from 5 stars to 3. As of Oct 2022, have visited their new official location several times. The staff was really nice, & I love the cute decor etc, but for some reason the drip coffee (just black) doesn’t taste as good as it did at the Lot / the OG Pannikin. Not smooth like before. Also the bathroom is a hot mess :(
——————————— Below was my review for the Lot location:
As of this review (Jul 2022), the temporary pop-up location for the new Pannikin is at The Lot! It’s in the outside seating area (if you walk towards the bar you'll see it). They said they should be moved in to their new location across the street at 7530 Fay by end of August :)
We came on a Sunday around 4pm, and they said they're open until 10pm, so that's awesome they're open late (at least at this pop-up location!).
I was being super indecisive, but was given suggestions and the girl helping me was super nice! I didn't want something too caffeinated, so she made me a Lavender Summer (but less sugary, since I don't like super sugary drinks). It was tart and refreshing! Thankfully there was no line, so my indecisiveness wasn't holding anyone up...😂
I also ordered a pastry (blueberry banana nut muffin), and she said the most popular bakery items here are:
Raspberry scone Blueberry scone Raisin date walnut Blueberry banana nut
My friend got regular hot coffee, he confirmed it tastes the same as the hot coffee at the old Pannikin haha.
I am glad The Lot let them temporarily post up here, Pannikin was probably the most beloved coffee place in La Jolla, so disappearing forever was...
Read moreI love The flower Pot Café. If I lived in La Jolla, I would go there every single day. The owners and all the employees (that we've seen so far) have been lovely and quite pleasant. We love their oat milk latte, their Greek eggs, breakfast burrito, veggie wrap, and avocado toast (these are some of the items and my husband and I have tried). The strawberry muffins are amazing and I always get one to go (for later in the day). Everything is delicious.. but, beyond their great food and coffee we love the atmosphere and the vibes. It has been a lovely place to go on a weekend and I am so happy that we have discovered The Flower Pot Café. Even though we don't live very close to the location, we try to get there at least once a month and enjoy the good food, the fabulous coffee and just the inviting, cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Flower Pot just celebrated their one year anniversary and I hope they will be there for...

Their Mexican hot cocoa made up with the ground. Ibarra chocolate is still a favorite. I wish they didn't charge so much for non-dairy milk and they really need to add more. Vegan options to their muffin and menu. Disappointing not to see that.
That said lots of eclectic seating inside and out. Weekends are extremely busy if you order on DoorDash you're gonna pay a dollar more per hot drink, but you'll save a lot of time on the line
we found when we arrive at the line was so long. We just did the DoorDash for pick up and saved ourselves time.
Love all the community events and the dog friendly space. However, when you’re all about taking care of the Earth and being good, please give those Dari crowds a break and reduce that$1.30. Allmond milk charge that I just got on my mocha. Please add some plant...
