The installation process was a nightmare. The company sent out a single installer initially that was apparently very new to the company and inexperienced with the full installation process. He did not finish the job on time, and promised he would return the next day.
He was a no-show the following day, and I received no contact from the company as I wasted a day waiting. Once I complained to the sales guy, whom seemed to stay very hands-off during this debacle, someone finally reached out and two installers showed on the third day. They were also new/inexperienced and did not complete the work.
Finally, over a week after the initial installation date (after of course waiting more than a month for the installation date), two experienced installers came out and cleaned up the job.
The first two teams not only did not complete the work, but also left the closet a complete mess with dust, silicon and other items left in my home.
I've used California Closets in a previous home (different area), and had an entirely different experience, making me assume that the La Jolla franchise has problems. Though the sales guy bad mouthed ClosetWorld as part of his sales tactic, the experience with California Closets was as terrible as he described his competitor. I would not use this franchise again, and suggest that you don't either.
By the way, the sales guy is YET to follow-up and check on my satisfaction and completion of the job; though he was VERY communicative during the process to have me...
Read moreI am a retired lawyer from the midwest who moved to Riverside County with my wife last year to be near family. We downsized and wanted to convert a third bedroom to an office so I called California Closets and was contacted by Kimberly Kim. From the moment she appeared at our door, she made such a positive impact...from her warm personality to her professionalism...we knew we wanted to work with her. After explaining what we wanted, and within a short period of time, she presented her work with drawings, measurements, choice of materials, colors and a few design options. During the process, which included a few more meetings, Kimberly was always punctual, patient, pleasant, a good listener and helpful in making selections. when the installation was completed, Kimberly noted a small defect at the edge of one corner of the desk top---she called her constuction guy and told him to install another dest top---"wow"! Now we are looking forward to adding another desk to the office and working with Kimberly again.
In conclusion, Kimberly Kim is the epitome of a fine representative for California Closets. She went "above and beyond" for us in all her...
Read moreSales person (Azi Allen) was helpful in identifying solutions for this closet project. The price was higher than expected and she redid the design to match our project budget. We were looking for new closet doors as part of this project. CC has a very limited selection and we opted to buy the new doors elsewhere.
California Closet has a bundle of paperwork managed by Melissa Chavez. There are a lot of requirements buyer must agree to including tear out and repair of walls prior to installer arriving. This adds cost to the project. California Closet does not do this prep work but did provide the name of a contractor who offered to do the work, but for an excessive price. I did it myself.
Progress billing was managed efficiently. But watch the change orders that are part of the contract and make sure nothing was dropped from the design that is expected.
Silvestri was installer. He was polite, efficient, and cleaned up when work was completed.
California Closet is not a turnkey project firm so expect to hire painters, carpenters, drywall workers, etc. unless you do the work yourself. Still, the work they do is excellent and we...
