I absolutely love this place and now I know why! It’s the sister sushi shop to So Cal Sushi in Normal Heights, San Diego, and it lives up to the name. Everything I tried was amazing…I honestly can’t pick a favorite because it was all that good. Highly recommend if you’re craving top quality sushi!

New local ramen spot is pretty darn good! Awesome service, super clean and friendly. Everting is reasonably priced for La Jolla. You can basically make your own ramen also.... I told em I really wanted a spicy miso with the black garlic and they said no problem!

We have eaten here several times. The food & service is excellent! We had the Avocado Heart, Mexican Roll, & Green Tea Mango combo for dessert:) YUMMM!

WARNING: THIS BUSINESS IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. We sat down for an early dinner at 5:30pm (at this point only two other tables were seated) and within 10 minutes we were unceremoniously told to leave because our 1.5 year old daughter was babbling and “would disturb our customers who have reservations later tonight.” Huh?? The baby was not crying or acting out — she was babbling in her excited-baby talk. The kid loves to eat and she knew food was coming!

We come from the hospitality business and we know firsthand the challenges of making everyone in your restaurant as comfortable as possible. It’s not an easy job and we respect all of our peers in the industry; but must you speak with a young family with babbling child the same way you would tell a vagrant to stop peeing in your planter boxes? I do not exaggerate for effect here — tone was the same.

I don’t care how good the food may be, the sheer lack of hospitality and rude treatment from the staff/ownership here is an...

Had a pretty terrible experience here. Came in at a very slow time (Sunday night - with three other tables full, no takeout orders clearly being placed). Called ahead since I have bad food allergies & asked if they could accommodate. They said yes, but when I got there were extremely rude & dismissive- didn't take severe food allergies seriously & also were extremely unkind when I asked straightforward questions. Didn't feel comfortable eating there. Would definitely not recommend if you have any dietary restrictions or if you want to feel welcome. Truly a horrible and uncomfortable experience.

To boot, I was with someone else who had already placed an order - their review of the food was "not that good."

I'd give your business to another establishment that treats their...

A great restaurant in the neghborhood. The sushi is superb. At Haru I'vre tried the La Jolla, Spicy Tuna, Philadelphia, California, Vegetable Tempur, Gampyo rolls; along with, Seaweed Salad, and all the Yakisobas. Every one was excellent.

Further, the service is excellent as well, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. One excellent attribute of their somewhat off-the-beaten-track location is the ease and availability of parking. The drive up to their location on Girard Avenue is well worth it.

The combination of a menu with great food options at reasonable prices, excellent service, convenient and easy parking make this a favorite that we keep returning to...
