Today I stopped by Palmys to get some work done on my laptop and I have to say it was a 10 out of 10 experience from start to finish The ambience the service and especially the food were all on point
I ordered a few things so I could really get the full experience the Surfers Breakfast the Avocado Toast the Cocoa Chia Pudding the El Salvadorian Lifesaver smoothie and of course the French Toast Bites
Let’s start with the drinks The strawberry matcha was perfectly balanced not too sweet with smooth high quality ceremonial grade matcha The El Salvadorian Lifesaver smoothie mango pineapple passionfruit orange juice strawberry and coconut water topped with shredded coconut was tropical perfection Every fruit tasted fresh and ripe and it was refreshing without being overly heavy
The Cocoa Chia Pudding was light but satisfying chia pudding layered with coconut seeds passionfruit purée pineapple and their house made nut free granola It felt both indulgent and healthy
The Surfers Breakfast was a pleasant surprise I usually don’t like tater tots but these were cooked to absolute perfection crispy outside fluffy inside with perfectly runny eggs and roasted sweet peppers Now I know why Napoleon Dynamite didn’t want to share his tots I’ve only ever had sweet peppers raw but the way they roasted them here made me want to learn how to make it at home The avocado added that bit of freshness to tie it all together and the sourdough toast on the side was just right
The Avocado Toast was another standout The toppings cherry tomatoes cucumber radish pickled onions microgreens and a sprinkle of Tajín created the perfect balance of fresh tangy and creamy on top of thick sourdough
And then there were the French Toast Bites the star of the show Think cinnamon toast crunch for grown ups but elevated Crispy on the outside soft on the inside with fresh berries a dollop of pastry cream and maple syrup that brought it all together into a flavor bomb Truly unforgettable
Palmys is a bit of a drive for me but it’s one I’ll happily make again and again Between the welcoming atmosphere friendly staff and food that feels both thoughtful and indulgent it is worth every mile Whether you’re a local or just visiting I would definitely recommend giving...
Read moreMy man, G ordered the breakfast burrito which was the move here.
He also got a Mexican Mocha Iced (7/10). I skipped a drink because with oat milk it totaled $8 and I just couldn’t figure out wrap my head around that so I glitched at the register and took the drink off and my heart filled with joy as the total went from $54 to $45! Yay! My first good decision of the day!
Obviously I snakes some sips of my valentine’s Mexican Mocha, little sweet but refreshing. Nothing to write home about.
I ordered the Thai Quinoa Salad and it was a disappointment, not what anyone imagined, confirmed by the friendly neighbors we had. They commented they “thought is was a side salad.” It wasn’t. It was $15 …In essence, it was a handful of wilted spring mix with a tiny tiny sprinkle of quinoa on top and some shaved carrots/cashews. It was so tiny and unappetizing I decided to show the waiter the old wilted lettuce pieces sprinkled throughout. The first man I brought it to was behind the counter with a little bit of an accent, his name was Cheba, he had a bit if an attitude. He made it clear that he felt I should eat the salad and keep my issue to myself, but then homeboy, Vivianno came along and offered to make me something else. Vivianno is MVP and deserves a raise. And Cheba should be less customer facing. Sorry if you were having a bad day Cheba. But after that salad, I was too.
Everyone else’s food was great! Even the neighboring table’s bowls looked pretty good too.
Atmosphere 10/10 dog friendly, great outdoor area. Definitely a great place for a sunny day.
Take away, go in nice weather, byoc (bring your own coffee) or get drinks elsewhere, get a bowl or burrito, skip the salad.
Note to the kitchen: more guac on the burrito...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I rode her bicycles to coffee shop around the corner to grab some fresh pastries. Unfortunately, they were all out, so we stumbled upon this adorable cafe instead!
it's an adorable Bohemian style from the outside, with its woven light fixtures and mix of greenery. the inside is an adorable aesthetic, too, with a more small beach/surf vibe.
They have a fair variety of breakfast favorites, in addition some acai bowls and a long list of smoothies. My boyfriend ordered the bagel and lox, and I ordered the Blue Horizon acai Bowl, that actually does not have I say and just has a blue sorbet base. He also ordered the charcoal, peanut butter smoothie. We both ordered some tater tots on the side as well. I came to this place with no expectations, and was very very impressed by the food. My boyfriend smoothie was very delicious, not too heavy on the peanut butter, and accompanied by a few fresh banana dry chips. My acai bowl was perfect for anyone who doesnt actually like acai itself, it was accompanied with a with a variety of tasty berries. It was super refreshing, filling, and light for a hot summer day. And I cannot not comment about the tots, because they amazing! If you like double fried French fries, you will LOVE the Tatter Tots! I've never had tots so crispy and I was kind of surprised because there menu seems to be very "healthy" (and there definitely is a ton of healthy options) so I didn't expect such crispy tots, great suprise! I saw a lot of people working on their laptops while chilling here, so great place to get some studying or work done as well. I will...
