This is an insanely long story but I feel that others should know how they are treating customers. We were looking forward to trying PP, it's about 2 miles from our home. Unfortunately, just as we finished paying for our order the power went out for the entire Liberty Station and surrounding area. Our server was very nice about the situation (which was obviously nobody's fault). He called his boss, and he said that we should write down our name, phone and email address, which we did. The server assured us that we would be getting an email from the boss soon. Three days later we hadn't heard anything but figured we'd try to get lunch again. There were different servers on duty, so we explained our situation. The server said that he had no way of knowing whether this had actually taken place. We said perhaps he should call his boss. He went over and spoke to a man sitting at the counter. That person said nothing to us, but the server came back and said that we'd have to have proof of when we purchased our lunch. I showed him our credit card charge, but it didn't have the time of day on it. He went back to the 'boss' and came back and asked us what we'd ordered. We told him and he said that no such order had been placed. At this point we were a bit chagrined that he so obviously thought we were there to scam him. He was very short with us and basically said he didn't believe us. Apparently, he did find the order because he barked at us, "so do you want your money back?" we said no thank we'd like to eat what we ordered. He was obviously not happy that we were going to stay and turned and walked away. We ultimately got our order (the 'boss' never said a word to us). My partner asked if he could have more mustard for his sandwich and the server said he'd already put mustard on it. My husband again asked if he could have some more. The server got very huffy and finally slammed down a ramekin of mustard, apparently mustard is quite expensive these days. Unfortunately, we won't be eating there again, sadly we were really looking forward to something new and hoped that it would bring back fond memories we have from our many...
Read moreOutstanding customer service! So I went to Le Parfait Paris after Sbux closed @ 6pm : (, but I'm glad I did. I ordered my Americano coffee and sat down to do some work. While reading, I experienced something unforgettable. Apparently the barista overcooked the crepe from one of the customers. Obviously, he wasn't too happy but the barista's quick and thoughtful reaction was amazing. She apologized several times to the customer and then went above and beyond to make another crepe offering him and his party chocolate croissant "on the house" all the while apologizing again and again. By the time the crepe was ready (this time not burnt), I think the customer totally forgot about what had happened. Wow! Let me say again! WOW!!! Ah, one more thing, she offered me chocolate croissant as well! Two words: THANK YOU!! The croissants were amazing but more amazing was this...
Read moreThe crêpes at this location are superlative. I ordered the galette complete, and was elated by the perfection that this crêpe held. I have been to France and tried many exceptional crêpes, and Ally (the chef) curated a dish that supersedes the majority of them. However, from my personal experience, this was the best crêpe I have had in San Diego.
To relay the flavors that I experienced: as you take your knife to split the crispy egg, a perfect runny yolk flows onto the buttery crêpe. As you take your first bite, your palette is met with a silken béchamel, enriched with cheese, brings a gentle creaminess that lingers without overwhelming. It wraps itself around a generous portion of thin slices of tender ham that anchor the dish.
If you seek a galette complete without buckwheat flour, it is necessary to come, as I am most...
