Sunshine Company Saloon — Restaurant in San Diego

Ugh. What can I say about this place other than... ick. It smells like throw up and I'm pretty sure the spots on the carpet are from just that. Sunshine Co. is a local favorite, however, it's a pretty nasty bar overall. Feels like a PB bar that somehow relocated to Ocean Beach. Tends to draw more of a "college" crowd. It's still a bar though, and it has all the essentials... drinks... pool tables... Tvs... etc. So if you're ok with sloppy drunk college kids, this might be the place for you.

On the other hand... this is one of the very few places in OB that actually has a patio, so if you want to enjoy a few bevs outside, or smoke a cig or two, this is the place to be. Just be sure to take a few hot showers...

I love coming to this bar they have decent drink prices, cool patrons, lots of pool tables, and good staff. My only issue is the fact that escaping east county when it’s 90 degrees out it ends up being the same temp or hotter inside this bar. Their idea of air conditioning is 3 $19 wal mart fans that blow no air because they haven’t even been cleaned in years. The fact that everyone around the pool tables is literally drenched in sweat because they are too cheap to use their ac or have any air flow is diabolical. Figure out a way to cool down this place you’re making way too much money to be this cheap Sunshine! Would be 5 stars if they...

Drinks were cool. Bartender downstairs not so much. Asked for the 5 dollar Jack that they're promoting and said she had no idea what I was talking about....went upstairs with a much better atmosphere and bartender who knew what I was talking about. Made sure to stay upstairs and tip him well. He also suggested other drinks. We had a good time. Best part of the night is the atmosphere. I feel like the crowd is what makes this place so good. Everyone is drinking and having a good time but very well mannered you don't get that at many bars lmao. This is going to be one of my go to places...
