The Nolen Rooftop — Restaurant in San Diego

Such a cool place to grab a drink and a bite to eat before of after a Padres games or, even during a game to hear the cheers coming from the stands. It sounds like massive wave swells of cheers or boos. Incredible views of the city, the food was surprisingly really good! I figured since its an atmosphere trendy spot the food would be mediocre but it was delicious. The meat balls and the shredded beef tacos were amazing. The flatbread was really good too. But the service was lacking. I never call people out by name, since I dont rat people out, you never know if they are having a rough day or week or year. Our server was rude and looked like she was annoyed to even be working at all. How hard is it to just fake a smile and be personable. I see this all over town, young people with zero customer service skills. Just fake being nice, thats all. Don't even need to be talkative or anything, just seem like you care. Thats not a lot ask is it. Oh and physical menus. This isn't covid times anymore guys. We all want physical menus no qr codes. Other than that this place is really cool spot for a first date or to start your night out on the town. Now here's the kicker and the real kicker, the servers hide the fact that 20% is already included, i always tip at least thirty percent Everywhere I go. Which is why I was really upset to see that they take two copies of the receipt without itemized, put them on top for you to sign and hidden underneath that on the third copy below is the receipt, showing that gratuity is included. That itemized receipt should be the top receipt. We all know that they are trying to hide that gratuity is included. So that people tip more. It doesn't matter to me because I always tip more anyway, and I tipped her more than the 20% but I would have been nice to know that it...

I had the most NASTIEST service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. No greet and no welcoming service.

We landed today this afternoon and were recommended to come here because they had an amazing rooftop view, upon arrival the person in the picture along with two other servers decided to be completely rude, treating us very poorly, and making us feel unwelcome. Right off the bat we did not feel comfortable we which we decided to exclude ourselves from being here. We were here probably under 10 minutes, and she decided to just be harassing us back to back as in making us feel unwelcome. That person in the image was literally beyond the worst and disrespectful server I’ve came across.

Upon leaving, we mentioned to her “thank you but we are going to leave a review based on our shitty experience” from which she literally laughed in front of our face as we were walking out.

I did not get her name and even if I asked she was going to give me a fake name. I decided to take a picture of her and when doing so she was smiling at my camera like this was an entire joke to her.

On our way down, we spoke to another employee which we explained the situation and as to why we left, and he agreed with that same person being completely disrespectful. It’s unbelievable how he literally apologize on behalf of her nasty behavior.

From manager to manager, I hope this gives you a great overview of who exactly you need to talk to...

Very disappointed! I made a reservation for this restaurant several weeks in advance. I flew down only to be told the restaurant had cancelled my reservation as someone last minute bought out the restaurant. I was planning to celebrate my family members Birthday and Anniversary. No return call or nothing. I won’t be selecting this restaurant again and will be placing reviews about this restaurant level of service on all of my social media platforms. Just terrible service!...
