The Wine Pub & Restaurant (Now Juno's) — Restaurant in San Diego

I ran into the chef, Malissa, out in Mission Hills and was so excited to hear about a cool restaurant closer to where I live in Point Loma. We have been in several times now and are always really impressed. Malissa makes the most wonderful food! And she does it all by hand - even pickles the pickles on site! I am totally in love with the banana-caramel bread pudding, and frequently stop by for desert even if we did dinner elsewhere. My hubby loves the pubcakes, which are always creative and interesting and never too sweet. The servers always suggest interesting wine pairings with our order, and even a habit-driven person like me really likes trying their suggestions. On our most recent visit we were pleasantly surprised by the cozy patio with pretty fire elements and lovely live music that was just what we wanted. We stopped here just by chance and what a lovely experience we had. The place has a cozy indoor seating area and a delightful patio. Both areas have a nice atmosphere but different. The patio is more casual and relax. They have heaters and blankets for chilly nights and live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The musicians we had were very good: a couple of acoustic guitar players with chill selection of songs. We only had a couple of wine glasses and olives. The wine selection is pretty good, not too big but good variety and quality. Service was nice too, two young ladies very attentive but not intrusive. A nice detail was the ladies bathroom. This is one of our favorite places. They're doing a great job maintaining public health protocols without sacrificing the quality of the experience. Sandy, the owner, always has a great selection of well-priced wines both by the glass and by the bottle. Her menu offers a varying selection of light snacks, small plates appropriate for sharing with drinks and full-size dinner entrees.

We love their outdoor dining room/patio which is usually populated with super-friendly neighborhood pups. This is a delightful neighborhood spot ideal for a couple or small, socially distanced group.
