The food was delicious, friendly staff, pretty clean, got food out in a timely manner, the only reason for the 3 star is because the seating is awful... we had to squeeze in to a tiny table with our daughter which usually is something that happens at high demand restaurants. But most places I've been keep an eye on tables and try to limit the time customer's are there to 45 minutes. They don't seem to care here, I saw people walk in and say forget it and just walk back out. When we got there, 2 table's were full with people who were done eating and we assumed they would leave soon and we could move. Nope... they sat there talking and playing on their phones the whole 45 minutes we were there, people were walking around with trays full of food and these tables just sat there playing on their phones for 45 minutes not even a soda on their table... completely unacceptable.
Update!: Moved out of state for 3 years, just moved back. Decided to come see how the restaurant has held up, big disappointment. The service was awful, the staff was rude. When we came in the restaurant was filthy and we had to clean our own table to set down, they let us order food without telling us the soda machine was down. When we paid and went to get our drinks, we couldn't! Asked if they could fill our cups at drive thru and they informed us ALL the soda machines were down. We asked to cancel our order so we could go somewhere that actually had drinks for us to enjoy with our food and they refused to refund us. The food was hard and over cooked, my husband had to run next door to the Panda Express to buy sodas for us to drink at Habit. They also refused to refund just the drinks cause they said they still had lemonaid and vitamin water. Well not everyone likes those choices, I'm guessing that's why normally they offer more than those choices. Over all a horrible experience and a waist of money. This has actually put me off of Habit all together which is sad because my uncle lives in Santa Barbara and we were big supporters of the chain...
Read moreMy 5 star review is do to employee Marisol (and the quality/ freshness of the food) Amazing service on Sunday April 4 (evening). I had never been to "The Habit" before.. Having the same thing over and over again can get boring.. My partner always has a big appetite so something small like a big Mac won't cut it. Marisol greeted me with the client care service that we all look forward to as you walk into a store/ restaurant. Informed her ive never been here what would she recommend.. My whole order was made on her expertise (plus another employee whose name I unfortunately didnt get.) We got: "Santa Barbara Char" as my partners big meal "Chicken Club" for me (something other than burger) Got every side (you can half your fries!!) "Onion rings + tempura green beans" I do not like green beans on a normal basis. .(Marisol's favorite) . I will get the half all over again decent about on onion rings (most places skimp you on onion rings) "Regular fries + sweet potato fries" for my partner. His favorite were the sweet potato fries. Drinks: got one of each fresh drinks they have on the side. I believe strawberry lemonade (for partner) and the other peach ginger something (for me).. Lol.. The peach ginger (also one of Marisol's favorite) was very refreshing/ tastes nothing like ginger ( I dont like the natural spiciness ginger has/ so a plus for me)
Once again Marisol, like I told you that night. . . we enjoyed every bit of it. . Thank you.. And of course all of the cooks that made it all happen /...
Read moreMy wife used to work at the building right next to this establishment! I would drive out during her lunch break and we would enjoy some good burgers and fries before I would leave to work the night shift in San Gabriel! Sadly, we had an extremely bad experience that made me decide I will never go back! It has been almost a year and the memory of inconsideration management and the employees showed was frustrating! My wife ordered a chicken sandwich which always came out delicious, but that day my wife noticed the chicken was slimy and ultimately tasted like it was expired! We brought it back cause maybe it might have been a minor problem. They had brang out a new chicken sandwich and the same problem persisted! We again brang it back only for them to show no interest in taking of the matter. I mean the chef and manager looked at the sandwich the same way they looked at the last one and decided the only way solve it was to throw it away and refunded the money we spent purchasing the food! She was on her lunch break and neither one of us enjoy our meal for the day! I know some might look at this and conclude it is old news! To me this why some don't return like myself! Hopefully they show more empathy and fixed the problem before more...
