A hidden gem!! That’s a term that is regularly overused, but is most certainly true in this case! I’m so glad that my boyfriend discovered this place while we were in San Francisco for the day!
My boyfriend was craving some Korean food, so we searched Yelp for good eats in San Francisco, and this had high ratings. I was not disappointed at all!! Probably some of the best Korean food I’ve ever had, by far.
It’s a very small, definitely hole-in-the-wall sort of place, with one small counter you can eat in at, which seats about 6 or 7 people, but we were able to squeeze in after placing our order.
We got some of the Korean fried chicken and bulgogi ramen, and I was pleased to find that they prices were very reasonable and affordable! They have sodas and other drinks you can order, but we just asked for water, and they gave us a big jug to use.
The food was ready in about ten minutes or so, and was absolutely incredible. I’m not the biggest fan of Korean food, but I absolutely loved this. The chicken had the perfect texture, the ramen was rich and soothing and had amazing broth. Best of all, everything was piping hot and had just the right amount of spice to it!
There’s also a cool wall that the counter you sit at to eat faces, with lots of writing and stickers on it. I really liked it and found it to be very aesthetic.
A very delicious, hole-in-the-wall, no-frills location where you go to simply get excellent Korean food. I left feeling very pleased, and definitely will go back when in San...
Read moreNow this mom pop hole in the wall Korean Fried Chicken Joint would literally get ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ But I will be honest I work until 8pm some nights (those are usually the ones where I don’t want to cook) so I order take-out.. Except two years ago this was never an issue with Aria it only just very recently became a problem. The restaurant hours of operation are 11:30am-9:40pm I worked in several restaurants through my life and still work in the service industry. For literally the TENTH time now, it’s a late night at work and Aria sounds amazing… then I get this result repeatedly… and I know I can’t be the only one.
“They’re out of chicken” as if literally they do not have chicken to cook or just not willing to do the extra work to make more that meets the daily demand
They never answer the phone. (When they’re Out of chicken) and it is within the business normal hours of operation.
They take down the chicken entrees (which is its main hitter) off all online delivery provider sites but still remain “open”.
I understand the lengths of closing down a back of house (kitchen) and so forth but literally if this happens on the daily which is now just becoming annoying and making me dislike this place when I honestly love it…. Someone needs to let the Seonsaengnim know what is going on so it can be corrected for the good of...
Read moreI had a craving for fried chicken and wanted to try Soul Groove, but they're not open on Mondays. I did a search of the area and the reviews for their fried chick was good. So we navigated the icky streets, up 5 blocks from where we were and my friends were asking me if I was sure about this. This is definitely a small hole in the wall with a few tables. We grabbed some menus and sat down. We got a large order of fried chicken, fried mushrooms and bulgogi beef (the beef came with rice). We thought the chicken would be tossed in the sauce after it was fried, but the sauce is actually served on the side. My friends loved the red chili sauce, the garlic soy was also good. There was a spicy garlic soy for the fried mushrooms. The fried chicken was battered, boneless and juicy. Dip it in one of the sauces really brought it all together. The spicy sauce wasn't very spicy. The thing that differs from other Korean restaurants is that you don't get banchan (the small side dishes) with your order. I wish that they would at least give us some kimchi, but I think you have to order that. By the time I remembered, we were almost done eating.
I really love these mom and pop stores. There's the home cook taste that you can't get in large restaurants. One thing we had fun looking it was the stacks for old records they had...
