This has to be the worst dining experience I’ve had. The waiter when I asked ‘what I should I order’ hoping to get a recommendation … told me to read the menu. It didn’t stop there .. he can back to the table and said the I ‘wasted’ an hour of ‘his’ time and went to get bill and slapped it down in front of me and promptly walked away.
I waited table for many years and live in San Francisco and this will be the first place I would recommend for ‘poor service’, it’s too bad that we were not able to try the food which looked good. We were so appalled by this waiters attitude that we were afraid that he would do something to anything we ordered. That’s unfortunate for the investors in the restaurant that spent countless funds and hours to gain clientele. With many options in the city, I don’t know what got into this waiter mind to forget that this is a service industry. Nevertheless, I will stand by the review based on the treatment I received. The managers and others at the restaurant should know that people read reviews and most importantly, we will spend the money for the experience. There will never be a ‘repeat’ performance!
The manager was cordial and tried to save the day but at this point what would you do? We walked out. I will Never go to the...
Read moreAfter looking at reviews and reading the online breakfast buffet menu, my party was excited to come enjoy Sunday breakfast. The website says it’s a modern brasserie featuring classic French dishes using the bounty of California ingredients/Contemporary French cuisine. The menu lists intriguing food like liege waffles and crêpes suzette and a whole array of other elisions sounding dishes. What we got was a fairly basic breakfast buffet. There was nothing French about it and no wow factor. It was also clear the restaurant was under staffed as most food was empty or didn’t look plentiful Scrambled eggs tasted like they were watered down and came from a bag and lacked flavor. It took a good 15 minutes before a server came to our table. We were already halfway done with our “meal” before we got our drink orders. My friend ordered tea and the server went to another occupied table and took the extra tea cup off their table they weren’t using and gave it to her. It was awkward to say the least. The price was $39 per person so we expected something much better. It was a huge disappointment...
Read moreDid the tasting menu. The cold pea soup was really good until I got to the bottom and found the creme and bacon like pork at the bottom. For such a small portion of liquid, they ended up detracting from the dish as I had no spoon and wasn’t advised there were accoutrements that were at the bottom of the tea cup of soup. The cured salmon was kind of meh. Served with tiny potato slices, it felt somewhat boring for the other dishes served. The trout with almondine stood out as especially good. The jasmine pilaf served with it changed the flavors so considerably that I was super impressed by how different the dish could taste with each of the flavors with which it came (smoke trout roe, spinach, a pesto like green sauce and a creme sauce flavored with the smoke roe). The cherry galette was like someone filled an almond croissant with amarena cherries. Quite delightful. I’m not usually a dessert person.
The cocktail I got was well balanced. Wine list is good.
Service was astounding. I never felt like I was waiting, didn’t feel rushed, and many people...
