MY REVIEW IS IN REFERENCE TO AN ONLINE ORDER AND DELIVERY!
I decided to order from Paris Baguette for the first time for myself to get two birthday cakes for a coworker of mine and this was the nearest location to my workplace. My aunt has gotten a Paris Baguette cake for my grandma on her birthday before so I knew the quality of the cakes are fantastic for a treat for someone you want to surprise.
I ordered a Maple Pecan Layer Cake and Vanilla Scream Ghost cake for my coworker two days before surprising them. One cake to celebrate Autumn and the other is to celebrate Halloween (birthday coworker loves Halloween). The online ordering process was really simple. The cakes came out beautifully with the Happy Birthday message written in chocolate on the white stand they were on + they came with 8 birthday candles, the plastic cake knives Paris Baguette has, and matches stowed on the plastic knives. The delivery driver was affiliated with Door Dash and delivered the cakes to me at my workplace with care.
My coworkers really liked the flavors of the cake and the coworker whose birthday it was finally got to try out Paris Baguette for the first time. The vibes of our small, work birthday celebration was very homey and I’m glad Paris Baguette contributed to making it happen. Thank you so much!
I had a slice of the Vanilla Scream Ghost cake. It had a very soft, sponge cake texture and that pleasant vanilla cream texture and flavor that is characteristic of Paris Baguette. Delightful.
I wish I got photos of how well the cakes came out (I was too focused on getting things ready for the surprise), but I can assure you that it was a happy and tasty celebration for those that got a slice. By the end of the day, all the...
Read moreI have been to a couple of locations of Paris Baguette, both before lockdown and again more recently as businesses have started to re-open around SF. This SF location is smaller than their bakery in Millbrae, but I was (am?) nevertheless surprised by the variety packed into this small shop. There are a lot of French/French-inspired desserts such as croissants and cakes and breads and other pastries. Personally, I am more drawn to the ones that intersect French desserts with more traditionally Asian flavours, such as the matcha or red bean desserts and tarts. While I do, expectedly, tend to favour some of their treats more than others due to flavours, textures, nostalgia element, etc., I've found that even the ones I'm "less" a fan of aren't exactly misses either - i.e., no matter what you get, it's hard to go wrong, so treat yo'self ;)
Side note: It looks like there is also a small seating area at the back, but it's currently closed due to COVID restrictions so I've only ever done...
Read moreWent to Paris Baguette at Montgomery at around 4:35 pm today, June 4th (after work). There were 2 ladies on duty. I waited for about 7-10 minutes for them to approach me / or offer assistance. No one did!! The cashier just looked at me - that was it. The other lady pretended to be doing something and turned her back. I felt so stupid waiting and being continuously ignored so I left. Just went to 85* (degrees) near my home.
I oftentimes buy boxes of Coffee Bun or Coffee Danish or Mini Croissants with Cream Cheese in the morning before work … NONE of the morning shift staff EVER acted similar to these 2 ladies —EVER. I once bought a box too one afternoon after work - it was a very nice Asian guy who assisted me. He was very helpful and accommodating.
Had I known I will be ignored - I could have gone straight to 85*. I also wish these 2 ladies will be like the morning shift staff or that Asian Guy who also works in...
