Leaving a review here because this company seems to operate under several names—Veritas, Greentree Property Management, and RentSF all appear to be part of the same group.
I signed a lease with RentSF and moved into my unit on February 15. Since then, the experience has been extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend them.
About six weeks after move-in, the property notified tenants of a 6-month (minimum) construction project to redo all the balconies. This resulted in near-constant weekday construction noise (8am–5pm) and a total loss of airflow and natural light in my living room, which is now sealed behind a tarp. The balcony is also inaccessible. I suspect my broker/the property management knew about this and still let me sign the lease anyway, given how soon the construction happened after I moved in.
When I reached out to ask for a rent reduction or the ability to end my lease, I received a generic corporate email more than a week later, stating that because of a clause in the lease, I have no rights to request either. However, San Francisco’s Rent Ordinance still protects tenants in cases of significant loss of housing services, and this kind of disruption may qualify. If you’re in a similar situation, I’d encourage you to learn your rights and contact the SF Rent Board.
It’s been disheartening to encounter such a lack of transparency and accountability. If you're considering renting with RentSF, I’d recommend asking detailed questions about the property management (they tend to not give out personal emails, only generic emails like greentree@greentree, which should set off alarm bells), upcoming construction and management practices...
Read moreHad an outstanding experience finding an apartment to lease with Steve Shutler from RentSFNow. I had set up a showing for an apartment with relatively low expectations. Steve met me at the apartment and showed it to me, but he also asked about what i was looking for specifically. After learning what I was hoping for, he took me to see three different properties, with one that he thought would be a particularly good fit. He was right on the money - the apartment was exactly what myself and my housemates were looking for. Steve clearly set honest expectations for how soon we needed to act to get the apartment and he helped answer questions and allay concerns throughout. Within 30 hours we had done a second showing and signed the lease on the property. What stood out was how Steve really took us under his wing and looked out for our best interests throughout. He was really honest about shortcomings and strengths of each of the properties we saw and emitted an authenticity that's rare. He was constantly helping us to actually avoid unnecessary costs that we could've been charged, and he clearly let us know the steps we needed to take each step of the way. It was probably about as quick and seamless a house search + signing could have gone - we were all stunned and impressed....
Read moreOh my goodness. David is the BEST! He’s so kind and thoughtful and hilarious. Thank you SO much for helping us find our new place as we are relocating to San Fran from Texas.
From his energy to the ease of conversation, couldn’t have asked for a more perfect rep. He has been nothing but consistent and in constant communication with us about what we need and what would make the transition comfortable.
My husband and I can’t stop talking about how kind he was because as a couple that moves a lot for work, we’ve never had the experience of someone being so amazingly wonderful. I feel like we’re star struck because he has been and still is so amazing.
Although we don’t move in for a few weeks, David has been EXTREMELY consistent with making sure down to the lease, the neighborhood, and anything else, he answers questions about to the best of his knowledge. I’m so happy to have met him and if you ever need anyone, David Blosser (don’t call him Dave lol) is my absolute go to if I ever need anything else.
Thank you SO much. I hope more people get to experience him because he is EVERYTHING you’d want and NEED in terms of finding a rep. Thank you...
