For half a decade now, this enchanting haven has embraced a cherished spot deep within the chambers of my heart. A span of time marked by the tides of years, like brushstrokes on a canvas of memory. How delightful it is to behold this sacred space, perpetually abuzz with the symphony of laughter and camaraderie, a living tapestry woven with familiar visages that adorn the stage behind the polished bar.
As the amber sun dipped beneath the horizon, ushering in another glorious day, a fervent yearning pulled me to these hallowed grounds once more. A quest to unearth the quintessence of a day as perfect as the petals of the first spring bloom. I sought refuge within these walls, a sanctuary poised to embrace the blessings of this ephemeral season that the city dons like a shimmering cloak.
Ah, the skylight, an iridescent portal to the cosmos, a jewel set in the crown of this sanctuary. On this day, when the celestial sphere stretched its azure canvas across the vault of heaven, the skylight stood ajar, casting a cascade of golden threads upon the tapestry of the room. The atmosphere teemed with a tangible energy, an electric current of joy that flowed through the veins of this space, harmonizing with the very pulse of life outside.
It was as if I had never truly seen it before, but now, in this moment, the revelation was as vivid as a dream realized. This domain, an alcove for souls seeking the embrace of mezcal's smoky warmth and tequila's spirited kiss, had transformed like a chrysalis into a haven of mezcal reverie. A constellation of options, a library of smoky dreams, tantalized the senses, each bottle whispering stories of agave kissed by the desert sun and the loving hands that cradled its growth.
A liquid masterpiece, the "Peacekeeper," still reigns supreme in my heart, a libation that dances like a maestro's symphony across the palate. An homage in a glass, the drink that embodies the essence of this ethereal alcove, an elixir of unity that bridges the gap between the weary traveler and the steadfast guardian of...

I was elated to hear a new bar opened in the former Bacchus kirk location. And first impressions were great, the remodel is a work of art. The open skylights are a beautiful touch. The simple wood and faux-plants adds a desert vibe that really is beautiful and inviting.
But man, is this place inviting the wrong people. This is the exact opposite of what Nob Hill wants or needs. pricey designer cocktales and upscale atmosphere means you will be dealing with the worst of the worst of patreons. I literally had a guy on a conference call push his way in front of me while standing at the bar. think the marina is bad? Boom. Marina bar in your back yard.
It's opening, so crowds are to be expected for sure, and I hope the business continues to do well. But my advice to management is they need to create a better atmosphere for neighborhood regulars, tone down on the "eliteness" of their drinks (an old fashioned doesn't need decorate gel dots that take two minutes to apply when there's dozens of people waiting to be served) and focus on what the long term plan is. This place won't be the new hotness forever, and at the end of the day a bar lives or dies based on how it integrates into the community around it. And right now me and my friends will...
