I had the pleasure of dining at 707 Sutter, a cozy Korean restaurant, around 6 pm. At that time, it wasn’t too busy, but as we settled in, more customers started to arrive—a clear sign that we were in for a great meal.
Food: I ordered teriyaki chicken with white rice, and we started with a plate of shrimp. The food came out hot and well-seasoned, with generous portions that were perfect for sharing. Every bite was delicious! We ended up passing dishes around the table and still left with a few to-go boxes. Those dishes included Spicy chicken, chicken wings, fried rice with vegetables and beef dumplings. The flavors were rich, and the BBQ chicken had that perfect smoky sweetness. A special mention for the shrimp appetizer—crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. It really set the tone for the meal!
Service: The service was top-notch. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing, making sure our glasses were always full and checking in just the right amount. It’s always nice when you feel well taken care of but not rushed.
Ambience & Cleanliness: The atmosphere was pleasant, with plenty of seating, which made it comfortable even as the restaurant got busier. The dining area was spotless, and the clean bathroom was a plus. It was easy to relax and enjoy the meal in such a well-maintained space.
Extras: I also enjoyed a hot cup of saku, which warmed me up, and made sure to stay hydrated with water. The contactless payment was convenient, and I appreciated the modern touch.
Overall, 707 Sutter exceeded my expectations in every way—great food, excellent service, and a clean, comfortable dining environment. Highly recommended if you’re craving Korean BBQ or just a fantastic meal with...
Read more707 Sutter is a Korean restaurant that has been named 707 Sutter as that is where it is located. Granted that this eliminates the headache of identifying a name and building a brand around it, it makes it difficult for regular folks to figure out what cuisine is being served. Anyway Yelp to the rescue. 707 Sutter popped up at the top of the list when searching for Korean food in the Nob Hill area so I decided to give it a try for lunch a couple of days ago.
The restaurant looks a little run down but is pretty big. For the lunch service only the right hand section was open as there were not many people dining in. I was quickly greeted at the gate and shown to a table in the front and handed a regular menu which had a one page insert for lunch specials. The menu is typical of Korean resturants Kalbi, Galbi, Bulgogi, bibimbap, japchae, sundubu etc.
I decided to get the sundubu or the soft tofu soup with beef. After ordering I was quickly served four different types of banchan and ten minutes later had the piping hot sundubu in front of me. There wasn’t a lot of variety in the banchan but the kimchi was really good. The sundubu was also great. It had a great depth of flavor without being too spicy or salty. Overall I was pretty happy with what I got.
Most of the lunch specials were around the $10 mark so they were about 20% cheaper than Zzan their nearest competitor in the area. Service was fast and efficient. This was not the best sundubu that I’d ever had but it was pretty good and definitely much better than what I had at Zzan a couple of days later. I look forward to returning and trying some more stuff...
Read moreHuh, well, I've obviously forgotten to review 707 because I've been rather drunk almost every time I've come here. Alcohol has a way of making one's memory a little fuzzy and all.
ANYWAY, having been here a number of times already, and having tried a variety of things, including their budae jigae, jap chae, and kimchi fried rice, I'll say that, while it's not GREAT Korean food, it's pretty solid, especially for anything on this side of the city.
The waitstaff is pretty friendly, and I've yet to see the place packed, which is especially nice when you're drunk and starving. As others have mentioned, one of the walls is used as a giant screen for a steady stream of K-pop videos, so love or hate it as you will. I personally find it to be a reliable source of amusement throughout my meals here.
