I've never written a review, but my experience here was so terrible and I felt so utterly disrespected that I've decided to. My friend and I admittedly both look young for our age, but we were carded at the door by a kind bouncer and my friend even presented her U.S. Passport, showing we are 26 and 28 years old. We overheard another customer yell "who's letting all of these kids in," but we decided to ignore this. When my friend went to the bar to order our drinks the bartender informed her that he's not a bartender but is only paid to stand there and look nice after which he proceeded to make drinks for the other customers. Essentially, we were refused service and disrespected. Instead of being a mature, responsible adult and carding us when in doubt or broaching the subject, the bartender succumbed to peer pressure, lying to my friends face and was rude to her, embarrassing her in front of everyone. When she went to the bathroom to recover, the bartender and customers pointed at me minding my own business in the corner of the bar and talked about us amongst themselves. I can't understand why we would be refused service being above age and not having any other drinks the whole day. My friend and I were on vacation, and this really put a damper on the trip. Of all the other countries and states we've been to, we've never been treated like such s**t or encountered such a childish situation. We've both waited and bartended and would never treat someone this way. Warning, this place seems hip, but the customers and staff are rude, cliquey, and unwelcoming. This occurred late evening of 9/19/22, and I would recommend manager or owner speak to the bartender...
Read moreStopped in with my partner on a Friday. Atmosphere is neat, lots of plants, unfortunately not warm - I was kinda expecting a bit of humidity and warmth. Bartenders were friendly, but the drinks were pretty mediocre. We got the strawberry crusher - good, but the salted cream on top was way too strong - and the scotch+coffee drink - was there coffee? Nobody knows, but it was basically just scotch. On top of that, the drinks were not really full size. Maybe that's just coming from Atlanta, but the strawberry one came in a sniffer that was filled with ice and then the liquid only filled like two-thirds of the glass. Not a lot of value for the money. Food was prepackaged commercial stuff, which was a bummer. I'd probably go back since all the reviews have been so positive, but I wouldn't get those drinks again. Very unbalanced. Wish they leaned into the theme a bit more with more floral,...
Read moreWent here on a Saturday evening to a women’s meet up and brought my schnoodle with me. The unpretentious, yet classy venue was ornately decorated with thriving plants all around and the sweet co-owner, Lauren welcomed us as only a super dog friendly neighborhood bar would. I asked the approachable and attractive bartender for the healthiest cocktail they make and she made me a citrusy tequila cocktail with a dash of salt, no added sugars and a refreshing slice of grapefruit that was so thoughtfully balanced and delicious. Looking at the menu, it seems like she made me “loyal to the soil.” I found out co-owner, Heather who happens to be Lauren’s wife, painstakingly creates all the craft cocktails on the menu. Had a great time socializing with good, friendly people and am looking forward to coming back to this gem in the gritty, yet up and...
