This place is awesome, such a hidden gem! I almost don’t want to write a review to keep it secret but they deserve it! Ring the bell speakeasy style to get in, small little one alleyway store with affordable local artisan and imported goods like snacks, spices, gelato, bread, cheese, wine. Little courtyard in the back with 4 or so small tables (dog friendly!) where you can sit and wine taste a set of wines or buy a bottle from their impressive selection to enjoy at retail price. They do cheese plates and some other small pairing plates, she also has a great selection of cheeses and is extremely knowledgeable about what pairs well together. They have a walk in cooler where you can see the champagnes and other cooled wines, as well as cheese selection. She’s been there for 20+ years and is very friendly! Family run business looks like. Would highly recommend this really cool spot.

San Francisco Wine and Cheese is an absolute gem! My husband and I stumbled upon this delightful spot during our weekend getaway, and it quickly became the highlight of our trip. The selection of wines and cheeses is impressive, and the owner was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations. We were able to curate the perfect picnic for Alamo Square, complete with delicious pairings that made our afternoon truly special. The atmosphere is charming and inviting, making it a fantastic place to explore and discover new flavors. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by San Francisco Wine and Cheese. It’s the perfect pit stop for anyone looking to elevate their picnic experience! We can’t wait to come back!

A gem I went to San Francisco for 5 days and I was craving for a good charcuterie. Went to this place which is not really in the touristic area and WOW! What a place! You can choose your cheeses and meats and your charcuterie board is made fresh in the moment and it has a big variety! Shirley is the owner and she’s always there! She’s so helpful and friendly, the great meal we had was mostly because of her. I went to her place once and after that went again the next day cause the food and environment were so good. Definetely would recommend this place ❤️ Cant wait to go again to San Francisco just to go eat a good charcuterie with good people!

I’ve had San Francisco Wine & Cheese on my must visit list for awhile now. Right as you step inside, you’re greeted by walls of wine that feel almost like a library of bottles. Owner Shirley enthusiasms about wine is contagious.

Keep wandering and the shop turns into a little pantry of, cheeses, cured meats, loose teas or you can order sandwiches. Then you slip through a hallway and, like magic, you’re in a leafy covered patio that feels miles away from the traffic outside. It’s quiet, cozy, and the perfect spot to lose track of time.

When I stopped by Shirley pulled up a chair to chat about how she got into the wine world. She poured a few tastes, told some stories, and explained her mission: keep the wine great, the prices friendly, and the vibes relaxed.

Need a glass after work? Planning a picnic? Want a couple of bottles for dinner with friends? Swing by and say hi to Shirley. She’s usually running the place solo, though her husband pops in to help now and then. Shops like this make San Francisco feel special, so let’s keep supporting...

I had a really disappointing experience at this wine and cheese shop. I was excited to put together a cheese platter and stopped by to explore their selection. Unfortunately, what seemed to be the business owner greeted me with a very unpleasant attitude. As soon as I walked in, I was met with, “Are you buying, customer?” and had a tone that felt aggressive and unwelcoming towards the whole interaction.

I was just trying to browse the options, but the person insisted rudely that I “look at the menu.” The whole interaction felt condescending and uncomfortable. Because of the unpleasant vibe, I ended up leaving.

Customer service is so important, especially in a shop like this, where the experience should be enjoyable. Sadly, I won’t...
