El Cerrito Taqueria and Cenaduria LLC — Restaurant in San Jose

When we stepped into this restaurant, it looked much better inside than outside. It had a lively atmosphere with colorful decor and plenty of clean seating options both indoors and outdoors. The menu was extensive, but most of it was in Spanish, so we had some trouble deciding and had to use a translator. We tried the Michelada Con Camaron (Michelada Shrimp) and really enjoyed it. It was nicely presented with well-cooked shrimp and the right amount of spices. We paired it with a Corona beer, which was a good match. For our main dishes, we ordered the Caldo De Pollo and the Enchilladas Verdes O Rojas. The enchiladas were okay,the rice and beans were good, we preferred the green sauce. However, the Caldo De Pollo was disappointing, it was just chicken and veggies in a bland broth with minimal seasoning. We should have skipped it. I don’t know where you all are but I was just there 2 night ago and this place is one of the worst I have eaten at. I never thought you could mess up Chili Verde but they seem to have accomplished that. The meat was dry and looks like they just poured Verde Sauce over dry port. Let’s not talk about the Beria Tacos. The Consommé look like a beef broth with a little garnish. I have had Beria in many places included throughout Mexico and this was also really bad. I best part was that my dogs had a lot of left overs. You all giving high marks to the place I don’t even know if we are talking about the same place. The old Dairy Bell Correct. Maybe they had a bad night, but I will never ever go back to this place.

Most of the time I come here it's wonderful. This nice lady behind the counter always treats us great. This last visit not so much. I was charged 30.00 for 2 super burittos, carne asada. My bill says 13.50 each. (Is that even right?) They were awful and they weren't super burritos. A lot of rice and chewy carne and beans and lettuce. That's it. And to top it off I as k for light on the rice. It sucked. A bald headed guy took my order he was very nice but my order was not correct. I called to complain and someone who didn't speak English answered and was going to get someone who spoke English and put me in hold after 5 min hung up on me. When I tried calling back no answer.
