Jack in the Box — Restaurant in San Jose

I'm not one to give poor reviews because I figure everyone has a bad day or the vibe was off and caused poor service. However, this is a new location and you would think they had it together in order to stand out. Wrong! I've been to this location on 3 separate occasions so far and it's by far the worst fast food restaurant in San Jose. My first drive-thru experience was during normal breakfast hours and I ordered a salad for lunch. I was the second car in line. They took 5 minutes to get the order out to the car in front of me. When it was my turn I figured the chicken salad would be ready since I already waited 5 minutes for the car in front of me. WRONG!!! I had to wait 7 minutes at the window! The people behind me were visibly frustrated since everyone was on their way to work. I asked the young lady if she wanted me to pull over and wait in the parking lot...she smiled and said "No sweetie, don't worry...we're cooking your chicken...it will be right out!" I waited 7 minutes! I was 3 minutes late to work. My second experience was okay. But keep in mind I drove through to pick up an iced-tea. This morning was my third and LAST time at this place. I ordered 2 jumbo jacks for a homeless couple that sits outside of my work. I wanted to surprise them since I overheard them make a comment about liking jumbo jacks. I was the only car in the drive-thru. I figured it wouldn't or shouldn't take long. Well...I was waiting at the pick-up window for 5 minutes! I was trying to show my concern by looking in the window to see what the hold up was. The employees were talking amongst each other about a visit from a district manager or something. I was visibly in a hurry. Finally I got the 2 jumbo jacks and just by feeling the bag, they weren't warm! I gave them to the couple outside my work but asked them to take a bite and tell me if they were warm and expressed my concern. They both said they were more than happy but yes, the sandwich was cold as if sitting for a while. I'm not going back to this location and wouldn't suggest anyone else go either. Sorry guys but your service is...

I won’t go into details out of respect for those involved, but it began with a homeless elder—his feet twisted painfully, pushing a walker that doubled as a wheelchair. A man in a car waited in the drive-thru lane. Then there was Silvia—tall, beautiful, composed, and present—who carried herself with a kind of quiet power, as if she already knew the shape of what was coming.

Words were exchanged. Heated ones. The two men squared off. my car was just above the lane near the cashier window, watching it unfold at four in the morning, alert and tense, witnessing a shift from mundane civility to something absurdly hostile. What started as a simple disagreement quickly spiraled into posturing, into “kill-now-talk-later” bravado.

It felt like a fight was inevitable. A strange gravity had drawn us into what felt like some hidden stage—a secret fight club forming beneath the glow of drive-thru lights, nestled in the quiet hours of the night. The world tilted, just slightly, like we were about to fall into something darker.

But then comes Silvia.

With a presence that cut through the chaos like a perfectly timed chord, she intervened. It wasn’t loud or dramatic. It was surgical yet sacred. Her disruption was almost magical—precise, powerful, and completely unexpected and deescalated the situation and gave them both a bag with store goodies to the both of them

Food was NOT FRESH. I paid $17 dollars for old fries, a burnt breakfast jack... the egg was way overcooked ... I did not ask for well done. I also got a chicken sandwich that I paid to have have Swiss cheese, but got American cheese. I asked for tomato and got a "butt" end and the lettuce in it was so "white"... that is cancer causing ... a restaurant should only use Green ice burg lettuce or cut it up. The "white" butt end lettuce is just gross. Not to mention the chicken tasted "day old" cheese was not even melted on it! I also got an iced coffee... tasted watered down. No flavor in it or enough ice to be called "ice coffee". Tacos... made right but also just lukewarm. French fries were the warmer but mixed with older, colder fries... but asked for fresh fries. It seems that the 3 times that I have been to this Jack, I get service from jack staff that just can't get my order right or just give me old cold food and that...
