🌴 If Anthony Bourdain were to come back to life and find himself in Viejo San Juan, he’d surely visit this tiny little spot at the end of one of Viejo San Juan’s most beautiful residential streets 🌸 and chat it up with Eddie, it’s likable Puerto Rican owner 🇵🇷 and a visual artist 🎨 who knows everything about Viejo San Juan and it’s lesser known stories. Oh, what an episode that would have been! 📺 I can only imagine the two of them enjoying this humble Puerto Rican treat served in a clear plastic cup, known as a “Limber”. Ask any child who ever grew up in a Puerto Rican home and they’ll get nostalgic for their very first childhood sweetheart, the Limber. 🥡

Foodies for sure should come here 🏃🏿‍♀️ 🏃🏾 as it’s a local place that gives you an authentic glimpse of a frozen treat that’s been enjoyed in Puerto Rico, and in the Puerto Rican diaspora, for decades ⏳ Just look for the open window with an iron gate and price list beside it. ❄️

☝🏽 Little known fact: (that perhaps Eddie himself isn’t aware of) is that the impressive “La Rogativa” statue just across the street, features on one of its figureheads, the face of the beloved late Agnes Moorhead, the actress who portrayed the wise and witty character “Endora” on the famed United States TV series, “Bewitched”. The wonderful wife of the creator of this famous piece, late New Zealand Sculptor and Old San Juan resident Lindsay Daen, told me so! .See if you can find Moorehead’s face. And, look online into the story of this fantastic sculpture known as “La Rogativa”. 🇵🇷

The name: "limber" came from last name of the american pilot and engineer Charles Lindberg, who arrived on a transatlantic travel in plane landed in Puerto Rico. Before "limber" it called "nieves". According with oral socials stories, when like it, and folk chache the name to "limber" (intentioned wrong pronounced) in honor to his last name. Price: around $2.00.
