Underwhelming. I was so excited to eat here, it was supposed to be the culinary highlight of my SPRING BREAK WO! We sat at the bar to have the raw bar experience but honestly it was kinda wak. When I sat down I had to clean the bar from an empty perrier bottle-ok we are in san juan not san tropez, I moved on. Henry was a great bar tender but the overall vibe of the place was off. Do you want water? Yes please. (push an aqua panna toscana on me) last time i checked tap water in PR is drinkable except during hurricanes and cholera plagues. We asked for the best two dishes the restaurant has to offer (there are like 20.) So they served us a canapé type thing with plantains and tuna 5/10 and an ordinary ceviche 7/10. I had to spit out the membrane from the fish twice. Astrid and Gaston who? I am not a famous restaurant critic yet, but if those two things they served me are what you will stand and die...
Read moreOrdered the Classic Ceviche and it was good. The other plates that my friends ordered we're good and tasty as well. However, it seems they're trying to be more of an upscale restaurant when the place is not set up for that, is looks super casual and not that polished. For $20+ a plate I'd rather go eat to better known places in San Juan. Sitting outside is a nightmare, there is a really strong piss stench that comes from the street that ruins everything, the tables are cheap cafeteria style (see in picture) and the food took forever, I got my Ceviche and the others had to wait over 20 minutes for their food. I don't think I'll come back.
Update: as for the response down this one, then I'll recommend them to not offer guests the outside seating because it will take A LOT from the experience. A restaurant is not only its food but the...
Read moreOne of the best meals and restaurant experiences of my life. Not only the food, but the service. Our server, Nisyha, was so knowledgeable and passionate about the dishes and our experience it made our dinner all the more enjoyable. Edwin is an incredible mixologist and I highly recommend Espiritu Libra. There is food and then there are dishes created with so much passion and love that the flavors transcend. El Mercado y su Pulpo was an explosion of flavors so perfectly balanced I will be thinking about it for days to come. Post Casa Moreyra was one of the best ceviches I’ve had. The wasabi leche de tigre was so smooth and creamy with just enough spice to enhance the dish. The matcha cheesecake with black sesame and sesame ice cream made me cry. Go hungry, try new dishes, expect to have the time of your life.
Gracias por la mejor...
