There was no way I was going to test that point. We got mimosas with our breakfast. While I was enjoying my mimosa, I saw a sign that said, "No alcohol beyond this point". Initially, I wasn't planning on bringing my alcohol beyond that point, but that sign changed everything. My mind started racing. What happens when you bring alcohol beyond that point? Has anyone ever tried and if they have, have they lived to tell their story? I wanted to pass that point for just a second to see if I'd be okay, but ended up not being courageous enough. What if I jumped past that point and then never saw my friends or family again? Or what if the restaurant decided to take my drink away from me? Both consequences sounded terrifying. I couldn't even fathom a life without my friends, family, or alcohol. Anyways, I ended up playing it safe and just enjoyed my mimosa and avocado toast...

I gotta admit I hadn't been to Charlie's Place in ages... maybe 3-4 years but definitely before pandemic. The last visit was pretty bad, but enough that I didn't want to go back for a long time. We had a group of 8 and were seated next to a big group of younger college students doing the sunday brunch thing and it was rowdy. So rowdy in fact that our server what overwhelmed trying to handle them and paying zero attention to us. Anyhow, I didn't go back due to that memory. Recently, I tried again for lunch and it was a great experience.

I ordered nachos with chicken and all the goods, and it was fantastic. Service was great and the other people I was with were very happy with their food as well. Overall, a great...

Upon a recommendation of a friend I decided to try the Vaquero Fries. We had a party of 11 and my meal came out 5-7 minutes after everyone else had their food. Once I got my meal it was worth the wait. The bed was melted shredded Jack cheese. They piled the fries on the covered them with nacho sauce. There was a generous helping of meat covering the cheese. Cilantro, white onions, a large amount of sour cream and guacamole finished it off. I added jalapenos on it and that was a great choice. They were fresh cut and grilled with a flavorful smokey taste. They offer a full size and a half of this meal. So if you're not really hungry go with the half because I only ate just about half of...

It was an excellent visit to Charlie's Place. I called ahead to confirm that they had vegan options and a dog-friendly outdoor seating area. We arrived at an off peak time, 2:30 pm, and were sat immediately at a patio table in the shade. The server greeted us quickly, answered questions thoroughly and took our custom drink and food order without problem. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was great! If you're eating plant-based or vegan, be sure to get your burger without mayonnaise and bun without butter.

2017: Can't go wrong here. Semi pricie but you get large portions. Great drink specials and friendly staff 2021: recently decided to switch up the eating habits and am very disappointed that this spot doesn’t have any real vegetarian options. Especially being so popular with the CalPoly scene you would thing they would offer up at least a small variety. We’ve been going here for years but this is gonna have to dock a star from us and we won’t be coming back as often. :(
