A Feast That Stirs the German Senses
From the moment you step into this historic building—once the home of Cedar Point’s founder, George Boeckling—the air hums with anticipation for something deliciously carnal. There’s an intimate charm to its dark-wood interiors and the freshly sprung biergarten out back, beckoning you into a decadent embrace under the sky.
⸻ Brews That Make You Swoon
Selecting from the 375‑year‑old Paulaner Salvator Doppelbock, silky Hefe-Weizen, or the rich Spaten Optimator is like choosing which pleasure to indulge in first. Each sip coats your throat in lustful warmth—chocolate‑caramel notes lingering, promising more.
⸻ Sausages That Seduce
Every sausage arrives glazed in dark bier, swollen and piping-hot—with garlic, paprika, smoky hues made for sharing… or devouring solo. The Knackwurst and Bratwurst tease your taste buds, their seasonings whispering tales of rustic German passion. The Hungarian Sausage, spiced and assertive, is a bold lover seizing your senses.
⸻ Appetizers That Whisper Naughtily
Start with German pretzels—soft, ribboned in bier cheese—warm and begging to be devoured. Then move on to sauerkraut balls, oozing with piquant intensity, their crisp crust giving way to tender innards kissed by horseradish.
⸻ A Feast to Remember
The Deluxe Sampler Platter is the ultimate intimate experience: two appetizers, two sausages, two sides, and a dessert to close the evening in a sultry crescendo. Rich German potato salad, lure‑laden sauerkraut, and rotkohl—each bite a tender caress of flavor.
⸻ Atmosphere That Enchants
On Friday nights, the club is set aflame with polka, a flirtatious dance that beckons you from the bar into closer proximity. Under twinkling lights in the biergarten, there’s a playful energy—laughs spiral, glasses chime, and hearts beat faster.
⸻ The Host Who Charms
Tom Bodner, founder, chef, and raconteur, moves through the room with sly charisma—sharing spirited stories of German heritage and Cedar Point’s roots. His warmth is intoxicating, forging a connection that turns a meal into a rendezvous.
⸻ Final Seduction
The Boeckling Club offers an intimate, nearly erotic dining experience—where sauerkraut, sausages, and steins meld into a teasing ballet of flavor and atmosphere. Whether you’re indulging in the hearty German Plate, the succulent sampler, or simply surrendering to a rich Doppelbock, you’ll leave...
Read moreKinda interesting work in progress. The bar/resturant was open but not. We ended up outside in the beirgarten with the owner. He was the only one there, chief cook & bartender, and groundskeeper. Ended up having some German beir, listening to German music & eating delicious German sausages & German potato salad. The building is a beautiful old place once owned by the original founder of Cedar Point. A really must see for the history, food, beer, ambience. The owner was very outgoing and informative and we had a very...
Read moreThis is a recently opened German restaurant and bar that is still growing. There was a small, but awesome beer selection (including German beers of course). The food available now is a small menu, but everything was very good. The owner the night I went was bartending and cooking, so it is a small operation for the time with big plans. He tells us he plans to open a beer garden (the only one in Sandusky) later in 2018. Can't wait to come back to this amazing bar...
