I live in Michigan and was planning a trip to Atlanta for my boyfriend's birthday. I paid for a cake for my boyfriend. A few days before, we were told to quarantine. We cancelled the trip. I called them and was told that a manager would have to call me back and they would cancel the cake. I told them I was willing to have the cake shipped, or whatever they could ship up here, gift card or whatever could be done. She (Melissa) called me back days later, 30 minutes before they closed for the weekend. I tried calling throughout the week being told that she was not there. I called today, once again being told that she was not there. She called me back today. Told me that I didn't request a refund in time and they already made it. She lied and said that she spoke to me (or at least a female who told her to specifically, make my order and I would pick it up in a few minutes) and I told her I would pick it up, despite being in Michigan and in the hospital. She said well the best they could do now was a gift card. I asked if anything could be shipped, I was told no. Not even the shortbreads that were on the website. I asked how could I receive said gift card, she said I had to come in store, despite me being in Michigan. Despite them shipping nationwide according to the website. She was actually really rude, and accused me of lying about calling to refund it. I told her I could send her screen shots with all of the call logs, she told me I need to have the name of the people I spoke with each time. I wanted to have the cake because it looked delicious.
You know, if you do end up calling there, record everything. A $50 cake is not worth dealing with nasty attitudes and bad character. Lying, attitude, and being funny is no way to run a business.
TL;DR spend your money to deal with nasty attitudes, lies, and an obtuse Melissa. Maybe the other locations are better?
Update: Despite being called the wrong name, I have contacted their customer service, and now we wait.
Update: Spoke with Steve, the head of the catering and sales director, he was absolutely delightful. I am receiving a refund and shortbread cookies. He also told me that they have retrained the managers at all of the stores on their policies and how to handle the situation properly. He made a lot of valid points. After everything, I am more than certain that it was simply a Melissa problem and not an Henri's problem. It is unfair to hold all of them accountable for the actions...
Read moreI love Henri's. I go here as much as I can. I love every Danish, the sandwiches and ambiance. However, lately, a worker, Juliana, has been incredibly discretely rude to me. Idk what her problem is, but this is the second time that she has given me an attitude. Today, I purchased 3 items, and she asked if I'd like a back, I said, of course, and she gave me a nasty look replying, I don't know. You might have wanted to eat here. I told her it was to go when I ordered my sandwich. She walked away, mumbled under her breath, and shook her head. 😳 all I asked was for a bag. The first time was July 25th, I had a pick-up order in the morning. I changed my drink order, and she gave me a hard time adjusting the price. I waited for my sandwich, she told me several times when it's ready I'll call you. I waited for 12 minutes, and the sandwich was near the register the whole time, where she was. Mind you, she asked for my name, looked at the orders 🙄 and disregarded mine. She asked her coworker here it was, and he walked to the register, and it was behind her. I don't want to make it into something, it's not, but I spend a lot of money at Henri's, and I'm not sure what her problem is, but I hope she fixes it. I'll be calling the manager...
Read moreI needed to place a small catering order for a party my work was holding. When we went to the bakery to place the order, they told us it was too small in size and we needed to call the day of to pick it up. We asked them if they would have all the pastries and cookies we needed, since we were calling the day of the party. Henri's ensured us they would have everything there, including the pastries. THIS WAS NOT TRUE - they did not have the pastries we needed, since they were not shipped in yet?! I thought they made everything in house! Last week, when we went ahead of time, they ensured us that everything we see in the shelf/casing today, would be available next week. This was a huge inconvenience and we had to change our plans last minute for a party that is in 3 hours, when I did prepare ahead of time the week prior, but Henri's wasn't accommodating since the "order was too small!" Not only was this a HUGE let down, I was put on hold for over 15 minutes and when I called back, the employee said, "Oh, I forgot! We got busy and didn't realize you were still on hold!!!" - like what?! How rude! Extremely disappointed in the employees knowledge, customer service and overall attitude towards business. You have lost me...
