My uncle and I get together as often as we can for lunch. We've tried pretty much everything that anderson has to offer and frankly, tired of the same old thing. But today, we decided to give TG a try. Let me tell you, what a surprising treat! It has to be in order for me to give a review! Very rare for me. The food was outstanding! It took us a bit of time to make a final choices because their menu has quite a variety to choose from. My uncle had the deluxe classic bowl and I had the Cuban bowl. I recommend both! The service was very prompt and the staff was friendly and very helpful, answering any questions we had about the menu and all the different dishes, sandwiches, wraps and salads. We also tried the tres Leche cake, simply put - INCREDIBLE. I even ordered another Cuban bowl to take home for my husband's supper tonight! I had enough from my lunch leftover for my supper tonight! You definitely get enough food! I think we are both in total agreement that we found a new 'go to' for our lunches. The plan? To try EVERYTHING on the menu! I'd also love to give a huge shout out to the sweetest gal who works there - Chloe!! We didn't have to get up to get anything we may have needed - napkins, extra sauces, refills to drink - nothing! She took care of us and mind you, she didn't have to since it's more a selfserve establishment. So, I urge anyone to go there! Anderson finally has something fresh and new to offer! Try it out for yourself! The location is great, too. It's easy to get in and out of, compared to further towards town on Clemson Blvd with all the congestion in the area where Chipotle, Chick...
Read moreOrdered Family of 8 Meal and 2 Side of guacamole. Took longer than stated for food to be ready. Besides the food being cold/soggy and much, MUCH smaller proportions than expected...should have fed 8 people according to item description and barely was enough for 4 peopl... but there was OAK LEAVES and "other items" in some of the food. Not sure, something stringy. The beans had non-food leaves, see picture, and the chicken looked like it had been dropped and picked back up and served. Dirty! Beyond this, the food was mixed up... like while in the restaurant... I assume the employees drop food over the other food containers while preparing plates. Fresca had broccoli in it. Corn had onions. Didn't see the leaves in the beans until fixing plates bc they're covered in bean "soup". And only received a single individual order of fries, NOT an 8 person serving. Beans and corn were also in small bowls, NOT an 8 person serving. I had to cut my own lettuce and tomatoes to add to their bowl. I think they gave us the 4-person family meal size, not 8...but I paid for the 8-person family meal. Nearly double the price! New restaurant. I think they should have trained more before opening. I've never had this experience at any other Tropical Grille. I could go on... it was BAD! Food not safe to eat and employees aren't properly trained yet. Was only offered a $5 credit, when I paid right at $70!...
Read moreWent there tonight for the first time. And it will be the last time. The young boy behind the counter was clueless to the few questions I asked him. I asked him how big the bbq pork sandwich was, he replied” I don’t know”. After I ordered my food he then told me none of the drink dispensers were working. I asked about the sweet tea and he replied “no, that’s not working either”. The sweet tea is in its own dispenser. 🙄 Then my husband ordered his food, we preceded to wait about 20-25 minutes for our order. They made my husband’s food but not my bbq pork sandwich and fries. Speaking of fries….I never got the fries. We paid for them but they weren’t in our bag. Now the food…. Oh I wish Jack in the box was still there. My husband’s bowl was dry, no sauce, bland. My sandwich, well the bread was good, that’s about it. Neither food was not hot at all. It surely wasn’t worth the wait or the money. Waste of...
