From the momment you step out of your car the aroma will tell you, that you have come to the right place. The building itself is charming and inviting. When you walk through the door the host will reassure you that it is in fact quite inviting and you are quite welcome to be here. They are quote welcoming. They are genuinely happy people or at a bare minimum great actors , either way you will feel comfortable and happy to be here. Even the tortilla chips here let you know this is not your typical run of the mill Mexican restaurant, it is a cut above. They bring traditional salsa that you will be familiar with to your table. It's fresh and so flavorful the cilantro tastes as if they picked it fresh just for you at that momment. It gets even better though if you are looking for something a little different they have a salsa bar with an assortment of colorful flavorful dipping options, some spicy some sweet and some savory, you will just have to decide for yourself what you like. Now to the main menu , wow they offer a little of everything. It is a large menu but laid out quite well with good descriptions. Be prepared to make some difficult decisions because it all looks so good. I assure you , what you order probably is. I can personally vouch for the El Jimador special on the "From the Grill" section it's a trio of ribeye steak, chicken, and shrimp grilled to perfection then smothered with mushrooms onions and their own cheese sauce. It is served with either beans or rice, tortillas of you choosing corn or flour, and a light side salad. The best part of all is the price, it is super affordable. They have cheap factory fast food drive throughs beat hands down. They are nearly as quick with your order as well but you won't feel rushed at all. They check on you often enough to make sure your drink stays topped of and you have everthing you need. Overall if I could give them more than 5 stars I would, They offer a full free pour bar if you simply not very hungry you can stop in for a quick drink and an appetizer at the bar without taking up a table. My wife likes to call these cozy hidden gems date night diners. I agree, This is a great cozy little establishment with not only indoor dinning but a small outdoor hacienda style patio if you prefer to be outdoors. Would be a great spot to relax with a drink and watch the world go by. I would recommend this place to anyone. We were in town and stopped in very early and were able to get a table right away, I am not in Anderson often so I can't say how crowded they get, but if I had to guess they are probably quite busy in the evenings. Where else can you get a good quality flavorful small ribeye, with chicken and...
Read moreMy wife and I consider ourselves connoisseurs of Mexican food, having frequented Mexican restaurants and prepared Mexican food at home all of our lives. We lunched at El Jimador Elegante for today for the first time and agree that it is one of the best restaurants we have yet to experience! Every item we ordered from its elegant menu was not only rich in taste but also uniquely fresh! Meats were balanced with an array of vegetables that tasted as though they were picked from the garden that morning, and each item on our plates was seasoned to perfection! The atmosphere was a beautiful blend of rustic charm and urban decor, from its dark tufted chairs and marblesque tables to a shuffled playlist of music from Carin Leon and other innovative Mexican artists! Finally, our experience was made memorable by the wonderful service of Louis and the staff! Congenial, professional, and utterly respectful throughout! We will dine here repeatedly, and I advise you to...
Read moreIf I could give 6 stars, I would. By far the best Mexican food, restaurant and service I have ever had, and I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants. Started off, Camille greeted us with a smiling face and was very friendly. Next, Govani was our server and by far the best server ever! He was attentive, and overall just wonderful. We also met Hilda who was working the bar. She was so very kind and had a great spirit about her. I wish every restaurant had the attentiveness of the staff and quality of food. If I had to describe visiting a restaurant, this is the textbook experience. And on a side note, we looked like a disaster having just left being at rock the country concert all day....
