Gah I hate this, but tonight was the last time I support this place.

Some nice guy scooted in so I could fit in a stool beside him. The bartender was talking to this woman like she was on the verge of rage.

Nice dude beside me try’s to make her feel supported and instead she freaks out. Like scary freak out.

She serves me who came in after and the guy asked what’s up and I told him I have no clue.

When she comes back and serves another he asks for a rye on the rocks. She freaks again and goes and gets the bouncer who i expect to be a voice of reason considering there is no way he didn’t hear her first go off on the lady and then cuss out this nice dude.

Yet he was so weak he didn’t care to hear the truth just that this man who hadn’t been served and very kind even after being cussed out “had to go”. Vouched for him, yet still this “man” kicks him out.

It was really disturbing to see people treat someone like trash who has done wrong.

I finished my last drink quickly and left.

Please do better and hire doorman with a backbone and bartenders...

I recently moved back to Santa Fe. Although I've always supported Evangelo's, Nick is seemingly in a perpetual foul mood. Maybe it's a gimmick, some get a kick out of a "crabby" bartender. I ordered a Corona, round two I was told he was out of Corona. I ordered a Modelo, each time generously leaving a 50% tip! Round three (3 rounds are my limit) I was told he's out of Modelo. I ordered a Miller & got Miller Lite. As I was finishing, again leaving a huge tip, a guy at the end of the bar with 3 friends received 4 Coronas! I made eye contact with Nick, still I showed respect. He looks at me half guilty and half "we don't take kindly to your kind 'round these parts". His bigoted service was unwarranted. I'm a respectful Santa Fe guy, and overly generous with service industry workers. I was shocked. Frankly, very poor, very unwelcoming. My money is green too, apparently Nick feels he gets enough of it from all of us that he doesn't have to be appreciative, or friendly. It makes me reconsider the morals of a man who blatantly...

The band that played there was awesome. The singer had a lot of soul. The bar itself was cool too. But there was a bartender downstairs that was unbelievably rude. It was a female bartender, a big girl with the sides of her head shaved just so you know who I’m talking about. She was insanely rude to me and my friends at separate times so I’m sure that’s just how she always is. I’ve been a bartender myself and was in the customer service industry for years. The other bartenders were friendly and solid but she was deliberately mean and cruel on multiple occasions throughout the night and we never had any idea why. It was weird. I would give the bar a solid review other than her but the fact that this bar allows her to even work there, a one star review is more than...

Awesome bar with music almost every night and really liked getting to know Nick (owner/bartender) this week counting tonight, our last night 😔, we spent 4 nights at Evangelo's on our week long trip - Nick said we were becoming regulars! 🤣😎🍺 Al Especially liked going to listen to all the music - Tuesday nights are jam sessions so cool to hear from a variety of musicians One Love with Jake the Snake as lead gutarist, Greg on bass and Kevin standing in for Scott on drums was awesome - I think Scott will be with them tonight when we go back Highly recommend, just bring cash as is cash only bar (there is a pool bar in the basement as well that is cool) Nick used to be a competitive soccer player and his Dad was a decorated WWII veteran 🇺🇸❤️

Great dive bar! Very chill atmosphere, be sure not to miss the pool tables downstairs. Evangelo’s has a long history and had been family owned since the beginning. During WWii W Eugene Smith took a several photographs of Battle Weary (not his real name, think he joined the marines under a false name) during the invasion of Saipan, one of which became a well know Life Mag cover. After the war, Weary moved back to Santa Fe and open Evangelo’s, it’s now owned by his Son. There are prints of wwii photos all over the bar. The current manager is passing the bar down to his daughter (she manages the basement bar, him the top) who is also a great taxidermist. Lots of Santa Fe history here.

A Santa Fe old bar. The bar serves hard liquor, nothing using a shaker, and a good selection of can or bottle beers. They have a lot of good local bands with great musicians, and you'll get a lot of great guitar riffs. There is room for dancing or standing around. There are no tables to sit at,but there are chairs at the bar, and along the walls. there is a good mix of the ages and local and tourist in the crowd. Come one and all and have a good time.
