Visiting from out of town and we had stopped in just for some quick wine. We were sat promptly. Our server greeted us shortly after with a sample of the wine of the moment. Each of us ordered a flight and I ordered the soup of the moment. It took at least 10 minutes for our flights to come out. My soup didn’t arrive until 5 minutes after. I had noticed the table next to us who got seated after us had been served their order before us and they had also ordered soup. The soup was very subpar. The temperature was inconsistent throughout, which makes me believe they used chef Mike (microwave) to heat it up. The sourdough provided was the best part of the small plate. Once we were served, our server had disappeared and we had to eventually ask the person who was refilling our water to get our server for the check. Then, it took another handful of minutes to get her. Our check was brought out promptly and we paid immediately, as to not wait any longer. We wanted to take a bottle with us, too. We were given a coupon to get 20% off, which was nice. Instructions were unclear because once we went to the “retail” side we were told we needed a server to come and help us. That was another wait… once we were rung up by the server, she then stated she needed to wait for a manager to approve the coupon… we were told it was going to be a short wait… it was not. We then decided to forego the wine and leave. The entire visit took an hour, which was entirely too much time spent there. The server was made aware once the flight was dropped off that we were only getting the soup and the flight. In total, an HOUR for just two flights and soup. For a place that displayed an elevated atmosphere, we expected more. It was a...
Read moreWhat a solid place!! My sister and I had gone to a wine bar previously and we were not nearly as impressed as the selection and food is so much better here!! The variety is incredible, not just between different wine varieties, but also with the food! There is something for everyone and different meal types if you’re wanting something lighter or heavier depending on the time of day. My brother and sister and I came around lunch time and my brother got an Italian sandwich that I think lasted 2 seconds, while my sister and I got the lavender feta which came with cucumbers, pita, and hummus, and the bruschetta bread, consisting of 4 different varieties! The lavender feta was out of this world! If you’re a feta person, go for it, and if you like bruschetta and little open face breads, they’re light and the selection of breads with different toppings is perfect! We loved trying the different foods to offer, and even though we were visiting, my sister and I went back to Hervé on our final night for a little dessert / wine flight! The best thing was getting $10 off of a bottle which was perfect for little souvenirs to take home. The torte was a little dry, but gluten free so maybe that was why? Crème brûlée is out of this world! Definitely recommend for something light and creamy. Bellísimo was my personal favorite bubbly and my sister loved...
Read moreWe had about 90 minutes to kill before a dinner reservation in downtown Santa Fe, and the beautiful alleyway entrance of Hervé welcomed us to explore.
The atmosphere: charming. That welcoming alley that first intrigued us echoed the indoor courtyard feel of the inside. Natural woods, wrought iron details, greenery and cafe string lights offered a romantic but casual vibe.
Service was excellent. We sat at the bar and the bartender never stopped moving/working. He was very hospitable and while he was constantly taking care of service bar, his customers never wanted for anything, including fun conversation and local recommendations.
The wines were delicious! I opted for the build-your-own flight. While I certainly had my favorites, I found that I actually enjoyed every wine I tried (rarely the case for me).
The stand out for me: The Cabernet Sangiovese. I had never had this 50-50 blend, and Sangiovese is one of my favorite varietals. I loved this wine in that it had a sweet, jammy start and a nice dry finish.
I also love that the Chardonnay is aged in French Oak. It’s a lighter finish than California chardonnays and definitely my preference.
We also got the hummus and feta sampler and it was YUM! I especially loved the lavender infused flavors in the feta. Sweet and not...
