When we arrived without a res., our hostess didn't shu us out because there were no available tables on the books until 9, instead she kindly assured us to wait for what she felt an opening may be soon. So we and another couple before us stuck it out and waited. We were so happy we did. The menu is small but I like that. Generally means the chef likes to focus on food with a great experience.
We ordered the peach salad with spiced walnuts. He didn't over sweeten them but he did give them a slightly sweet taste with a hint of mild chili. It was amazing as I like flavor without a palate of heavy sugar. We ordered the lamb ribs which I wouldn't recommend, the waitress was completely understanding and quietly said she'd take care of it, and she did beyond. My husband ordered the lamb burger which was amazing, as many have mentioned. What's the chefs secret? Cooked to a perfect medium rare plus. I ordered the pozole, also very tasty and a big plus is that all their cheese is goat or sheep. Those who are many, that can't have cow dairy because of stomach issues and acne, will love that this restaurant is cow dairy free! Don't come expecting quick service, come to relax and enjoy. This is not Burger King, keep in mind that restaurants here, as in many cities, are having issues with getting workers. Ask yourselves, is the government responsible for keeping thriving cities without help and why. Don't want to preach but we have seen this on our three week travel, from California, Utah, Las Vegas, Colorado to New Mexico. ...
Read moreWe went here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Reservations with a credit card are needed with indoor and outdoor seating available. We chose outdoor seating as the the tables and chairs looked very comfortable with one side being a bench with pillows so it was nice for our mom. Plus the noise level inside seemed a little louder because it isn't a very big place. We started with 2 salads, the curry lamb ribs and the tamal. All were absolutely delicious with the flavor on all very good and on point. The tomatillo sauce in the tamal had a great kick to it. For mains we had the veggie enchilada, the beef posole and the lamb burger with fries. Everything was simply amazingly delicious! We finished with the desserts which included the flan, the dark chocolate cake, the tree leches cake and the butterscotch pudding which was recommended by our waiter. I like pudding but hace never ordered it at a restaurant...if you go definitely try the butterscotch pudding. It was the best dessert hands down. The duck fat caramel on top was just so yummy and added a depth to the pudding which by itself was good. The only dessert not good was the dark chocolate cake which came with a dollop of whip cream. It was very dry and weirdly tasteless. We all tried one bite and couldn't eat any more. My sister felt it has been overbaked. Our fabulous waiter took it off our bill immediately so we appreciate that. Highly recommend Joseph's, the service, the ambience and the food are all top notch and we would definitely come back the next time we're...
Read moreFood portions are extremely small. As a family of four adults we ordered 5 glasses of wine, a shot of rum, a Coca cola and four meals. The "complimentary kettle chips and micro mini Greek olives" are not a portion suitable for 4 adults. About the olives, I'd never seen one so small, the pit was larger than the actual olive. I'm not over exaggerating.
The dinner portions were so sad and I left feeling hungry. You should never leave from a $408 (including $60 tip (18%) my cousin added) dinner feeling hungry afterward. I requested that my lamb burger with goat cheese be wrapped in romaine lettuce. But the waitress couldn't remember that and I ended up with just a side salad next to a teeny tiny itsy bitsy teeny weeny burger that a 4-year-old could finish in 3 minutes. I kept expecting Dave Thomas to come to the table and say "Boy, this sure makes me want to eat at Wendy's."
The atmosphere was extremely loud and my cousins had to keep repeating themselves because the pub is very small and the acoustics were horrible. We were at a corner table in the back and couldn't even hear over all of the conversations in the packed restaurant. This was a Thursday night so it wasn't like it was Friday or Saturday with a waiting list or anything like that.
I don't recommend eating here unless you have a few hundred dollars to throw away for a bleak experience. The only good thing about the night was that I got to hang out with my cousins that I never get to see and...
