After an epic saga that involved more twists than a pretzel, I finally conquered the rogue tip on my bill! You might remember my tale of woe, where a certain server — let's call him "Ol' Sticky Fingers" — decided he deserved a 150% tip for service that was, generously speaking, "barely there." Seriously, I think he just pointed at my table from across the room and called it good.
Well, good news! The amount was corrected. And who do I have to thank for this triumphant victory? Was it Jason, the manager who seemed to think the error would just magically disappear if he ignored it hard enough? Nope. Was it Jeff, who apparently moonwalked away from the problem like it was a dance-off he couldn't win? Nah. How about the hotel itself, which sent a lovely, heartfelt message about their "commitment to resolving" the issue, only to then ghost me faster than a bad Tinder date? Not them either. Or corporate, who asked for enough documentation to build a small library, then promptly vanished into the corporate ether? Big nope there too.
A Hero Emerges!
The true heroes of this story are the folks at my bank. Yes, my bank! They were the ones who actually investigated the "inappropriate" charge (understatement of the year) and, bless their diligent hearts, determined it was fraudulent. So, take a bow, Bank, you're the real MVP!
A Serious Warning (with a side of sarcasm)
On a more serious note (because apparently, I have to be serious sometimes), please, PLEASE be vigilant about potential server fraud at this establishment. Keep your receipts like they're the last golden tickets to Willy Wonka's factory, and be prepared to strap on your metaphorical boxing gloves because you might just have to fight for your hard-earned cash. Or, you know, just use your bank. They seem to be the only ones who actually, you know, do something. You've...
Read moreUpdate; 5* We're back in Playa de Rey and it was must to back to Brizo Bar & Restaurant to see what new delicious new dishes that Chef Chris has on the menu and he did disappoint at all. I had the Seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich and it was soooooo good the flavors were so good and the tuna was cooked perfect! My wife and son in law had the Yellowtail Poke Bowl one with mixed greens and the other rice. I had a taste of each one and lived then both just the right amount of spice so delicious! Yummy. My daughter had the seafood Cobb salad with so many great pieces of seafood and they weren't skimpy out at all but the cherry vinaigrette dressing over the mixed greens. With added blue cheese and feta made it that much better. We also had a couple orders of the honey cake which is made in house and it's so so good. You won't be disappointed on Chef Chris's new dishes. Can't wait to get back to try some of the others. So if you're in the area, stop by. Have some lunch or dinner outside of the deck next to the boats and docks and enjoy the day. Cheers, you got to give them a try! 5 STARS*

Read moreStopped in for the first time after a friend recommended it, and I was excited to try their Saturday brunch based on the great photos and reviews. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations.
We didn’t have a reservation, so we were seated inside—which was perfectly fine. Our server promptly brought water and took our order. He returned once to check on us, at which point I asked about my dish, as I had expected poached eggs but received what seemed to be hard-boiled. The yolks were fully cooked, making the bowl quite dry. We requested extra avocado sauce to help balance it out, which did improve the texture a bit.
However, service from that point on was lacking. Over the course of two hours, no one returned to refill our waters, ask if we wanted dessert, or check in at all. We ultimately had to flag down another staff member just to find our server so we could request the bill and leave for an appointment. Unfortunately, we left without dessert and with only one small glass of water each during our entire visit.
It’s possible our server was overwhelmed, but the indoor dining area didn’t seem particularly busy compared to the patio. Overall, it was a disappointing first visit, especially considering how much we were looking forward to it and had to still pay additional $12 on a “validated” parking ticket.
I was even prepared to tip the valet but he pulled my car up, got out of my car, closed the door and called me over…and walked away before we got to the car. Maybe they were simply...
