Flight was canceled coming out of Midway!!! So my wife, another couple, and myself rented a car to drive back to Omaha, NE. We're all super upset about the icy drive in the pitch black of the night we're about to proceed on. As we're leaving chicago, we hear a low rumble... it's our bellies saying it's go time! So, we stopped at this culvers. I've been to culvers before so it wasn't a new experience or anything. I'm tired. It's like 8 or 9 pm after flying back from Mexico all day. All I want is a juicy burger and some greasy crinkle fries, and that's exactly what I got! Cici was behind the counter. She was friendly and kind of spunky! She gives recommendations, she's digging into the details about my wifes lactose problems, and she listens patiently to our complaints about Southwest Airlines. We add some ice cream even tho my wife gets tummy rumbles from dairy. But we just go with the small size to avoid issues. The flavor of the day was some crazy snickers heath mixture that made my mouth water and my belly crazy! Cici hands us the number card and gives a solid nod to go to our seats, knowing she has it all under control. The food comes out 8.7 minutes later, not bad for fresh, never frozen beef! Everything's hot and delicious.... except the ice cream, that's cool and creamy. I attack my burger with a ferocity that can only compare to a pack of hyenas attacking a wounded zebra! I dip my warm salty fries in ketchup, I try the bbq, and the next bite in some ranch! All the colors of the flavor rainbow. Everything was great. As i dump my tray and walk towards the door I give Cici a thumbs up and a smile letter her know she's shined a ray of hope on a dark and stormy...
Read moreMy sister and I came to get ice cream for us and our parents, we first went through the drive thru and sat there for a good 8-9 minutes before we just pulled up and went inside. When we first came in we were greeted by a gentleman at the counter, he took our order with a smile and handed us our number. My sister and I stood to the side, patiently waiting for our two sundaes and two concrete mixers. At first we didn’t mind the wait, but a lady had scooped the ice cream 5 minutes prior to them starting it, and when someone began making the ice cream dishes it took them about 10 minutes just to finish it. I wanted my hot fudge on the side, and the lady put it inside the mixer, with barely any oreos and my sisters didn’t have cookie dough. The guy who took our order had put a note in the screen saying the fudge was supposed to be on the side, and when the lady put it inside my mixer she turned around and gave us an unpleasant look. We finally got our ice cream and left. It took us around 4 minutes to arrive home, when we got inside our ice cream was half melted from sitting on the counter for so long while the lady making it stopped working to talk to the other employees. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience. Our turtle sundaes were finished first, but they sat there for a while with caramel and fudge melting the ice cream. The employees weren’t very professional, even with customers standing near the counter. We could have eaten our ice cream with a straw, because it was so melted it felt like flavored...
Read moreWent to the drive through around 7:30pm, and was still waiting for my plain burger and fries past 8pm. I stopped a worker bringing other food orders out that were after me & asked about my order. He replied “we’re not doing good tonight” and said he’d check. Another 30 minutes goes by and after not hearing from the male again, the girl in the drive thru who took my order noticed I was still there and said she would check. The girl was nice and apologetically said they were making my order fresh. Finally after an hour, my food came out. I double checked my order due to the already problematic experience, and there was no top bun on my burger. I went inside to ask for one. After leaving, I took a bite of the burger to notice it had condiments and was not plain as requested. The girl in the drive through was the only kind encounter I had, and tried providing me with free custard and a free basket coupon upon my return. Unfortunately, I live 45 minutes away from the location and will never be able to use the coupon and the custard was well melted after the drive home. As a former employee of a Culver’s for over 5 years, this was just a completely unacceptable experience. I tried to give everyone the benefit of the doubt of a busy night but after waiting an hour, I was still at a loss for my food and money. I...
