Everest Frozen Custard & Bubble Tea Morris — Restaurant in Saratoga Township

Tl;dr. I ordered two drinks. They both tasted sad and nothing like we expected. Ended up throwing the drinks away :(

I was really excited to find a boba place in Illinois, but both drinks I ordered were really disappointing.

I got a thai tea with tapioca pearls and a mango milk smoothie with no boba. The tapioca pearls themselves were great. Good texture and fun to eat.

Unfortunately, both of the drinks were really disappointing. The Thai tea tasted like a really strong and sickly sweet syrup. Even if you’re not expecting it to taste like Thai tea, it’s still really weird. I’ve had thai tea at dozens of places across the country, and it’s never tasted like this did.

The mango milk smoothie was very tart, had a chalky texture, and was not sweet at all. We thought it would be creamier or sweeter or something. But the texture was like underripe banana that clings to your teeth.

Neither drink was palatable, and we ended up throwing them away :(

I really hope that my experience was an outlier, and you all are getting better...

I loved the interior, the staff was super friendly, and everything was really neat and clean. They have a huge menu, lots of toppings, and lots of different frozen yogurt flavors. The wait was a little long for my milk tea but I think they’ll be quicker once they get the hang of things. I had the taro milk tea with tapioca. The flavor was good and the tapioca was perfect, but could have used a little more. However, it was way too sweet. I wasn’t able to finish half of it and it definitely gave me a stomach ache, and I was still sick from it for the next couple days. I’m not sure if that’s the case for all the flavors or what they’re ingredients are exactly. The milk tea also isn’t sealed. Came in about a hour before close. This was our 3rd time there. Employees always make us feel guilty for even being there. Workers are teen girls with serious attitudes and negative behaviors. SMILE and at least TRY to act like you don’t hate your job. Mistakes are made and they blame you when it’s wrong. We took the wrong item anyway because my daughter doesn’t thrive on conflict. The boba tea is decent even if overpriced. Worth it seeing as though it’s the only boba open late. But the service isn’t great.
