Do not come here because you’ll be waiting 20 minutes or more for a burger and a shake . When my boyfriend and I initially walked in there was barely anyone in the restaurant. There was a customer in front of us and one behind us. The customer in front of us ordered and got their food with no problem. Then we order and have to wait, but we expected a little wait since we ordered a few burgers and shakes. The customer behind us had the same amount of food and had to wait like us. Some time goes by and we realize the customer that was behind us, was receiving their food items, which was confusing since we ordered before them. So I told my bf “maybe they had an item that was easy to prepare and they just gave it to them so it could be fresh when they eat it”… but then they receive their entire food order and go about their day. So now I’m looking around confused as to where our food items are, like at the very least where are our shakes. More time goes by and more customers begin to come in, yet we still haven’t received our food. In the midst of this my bf sees a bag of food that’s been sitting underneath a lamp, not a heating lamp, literally just a regular lamp with a light bulb. I go over to ask if that’s our food that’s been sitting under the lamp, and the cashier that took our order asked “oh well what was your order?” Mind you there’s barely anyone in the restaurant and they have receipts all over the food and counter, so I told her the order and she still seemed confused on what was going on. So as the food continues to pile on the counter I begin to get upset because we don’t have our food and if that is our food on the counter why is it just sitting out and nobody is bagging or paying any attention to it. So the cashier gets the manager and I ask the manager the same question of “is that our food that’s been sitting out”. He also looks at me as though he’s not too sure of what’s going on so I inform him. I tell him “the customers after us received their food, the new customers were receiving their food, but our food has not been received and if this is our food then it’s been sitting getting cold”. His response was “well we can make you fresh food”. Y’all we had already been waiting for almost thirty minutes for our food that should’ve taken at most 10-15 minutes, and probably not even that long. So I asked for a refund and left. Not the manager nor any of the other workers had any remorse or understanding for how rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional their customer service was. If you’re looking to try this spot out don’t even waste your time at this location because the food is good, but the customer service makes it all not worth while over a burger...
Read moreWe decided to stop at Smashburger after some holiday shopping at the Schaumburg Illinois location. We arrived here at 7:55pm. We waited over half an hour for 1 burger and tots to be delivered. I did not like the fact that my order came out first and my husband had to wait another 10 minutes for his order. We both finished our meals and were still waiting on our free burgers for the buy one get one free promo, hence why I am deciding to write this email while we wait (it is now 8:55pm). The order should come out in its entirety. The food was great, burgers and fries tasted good. I saw other customers becoming impatient waiting for their food, uber eats/door dash orders being waited on by the drivers which affected the atmosphere of the entire place. I could feel everyone staring at the workers which only put more pressure on them and myself got more anxious each time another customer walked through the door. The workers were doing their best, however to have 3 workers working on a busy Friday night with a BOGO promo is not fair to the employees. Alexander deserves a raise! He took our order, was busy running around cleaning tables, delivering food to tables, and even jumping on the line to help make the food all while being very polite to unhappy hungry customers. This left no one at the register to take any orders for incoming customers. Your employees are staffed inappropriately and even with just one extra person they would have had an easier time keeping up. I truly felt bad for these employees and wanted to jump in and help. It is now 9:02pm and we decided not to wait any longer for our free burgers that we ordered all together under 1 order at 7:55pm. A couple people ahead of us received their orders so we believe our free burgers (tomorrows lunch haha) got lost along the way and we do not want to trouble these workers any longer. I hope you take this review seriously and can staff your locations properly to deliver the service we know you’re capable...
Read moreI really enjoyed Smashburger. The burgers are always perfectly cooked, the cheese is precisely melted on top, and sits aloft a lettuce slice. Unlike some fast food places, their fries are cooked to perfection, and have just the right amount of salt. Now the thing that makes Smashburger unique is the serving of tater tots. An item hand-crafted to crispy, golden-brown goodness. The fries and tots have a special smash version, named the Smashfries and Smashtots. They are coated and tossed into rosemary, garlic, and olive oil. Personally, I would not indulge into the smash version, but I could definitely see people enjoying it. One thing I found interesting about Smashburger is that there aren't many vegetarian options. There is only one salad, and that salad has chicken. However, there are black bean burgers, but most have contradicting bacon and other items that make it “un-vegetarian”. Luckily, there are a few options in black bean burgers, but they are lacking in salads and other items. They have an assortment of shakes, and they have non-dairy options too. They have typical stuff like milk, lemonade, coke, and of course, water. They also have a lot of alcoholic beverages as well. They had a few obscure things too, such as the crispy brussel sprouts, grilled and served with garlic, assorted spices, and ranch dressing. After trying, they disappointed me after not having too much flavor, and being overcooked. In some burgers, they have an interesting addition of mushrooms and truffle mayonnaise. On other burgers, they have an intriguing use of smashed avocado, sure to lead to some creative flavors. Overall, I enjoyed the experience of Smashburger, allowing take-out and eat-in. Their food most likely won’t disappoint, and would be a solid place to stop if you need a place for lunch. I would give Smashburger a 5 out of 5 and would definitely...
