I recently took my friend here out for dinner and we came in around 6:00 PM on a Thursday. It wasn’t overly busy and we were able to get a spot right next to the bar at a high top. It was about 15 or more minutes before I was greeted. My friend was there a little before me. Instead of the waiter asking what we would like to order if we wanted to order, just asked if we were good and then was like oh I actually want to learn more about the wine and cocktail list. So he gave me an option of what he thought for reds and gave me a taster. It was ok. Honestly the wine I had was just ok. I got a red blend taster, then the Malbec which I thought was a safe choice then the cab. It was about 40 minutes later and the waiter finally asked what we wanted to order and we were looking around for him wondering where he was. When he finally came to the table, he asked if we were ready and we were like yes we are super hungry and wondering if he was our waiter because it was taking a long time and he’s like sounds like you guys have it all taken care of. I’m looking at my friend like what was that supposed to mean? Then I asked for a few recommendations and mentioned something about one of the pastas sounding really good and he gave one about the shrimp pasta which was actually really good. Food 10/10 even gluten free. But the service time and responses were not great. I was telling people about Evo today and how good the food was however, the experience was absolutely an area of improvement. We got there at 6 and didn’t leave until almost 9. It was just the two of us and I normally don’t like to harp on a business like this, but with such good food, the attentiveness could be better - our waters weren’t even refilled. I want to come back and have a better experience. I always give restaurant recommendations to people coming in from out of town and I want this to be...
Read moreVery easy to find and in a super convenient location for me. I had not been before (apparently has new ownership/management) but this experience was perfect! My niece was in town and I had an opportunity for a bit of a date night. Evo was recommended to me. After checking the menu online, because I have a specialty diet, I was pleasantly surprised that i was able to find several options. It was not super busy on a Thursday but busier than I expected so I would recommend calling ahead as I see this place taking off. We dined outside and in the middle of the area and still felt a level of privacy. The tall walls and ambiance were perfect. The server was knowledgeable enough to help me navigate some questions on the menu and wine selection. I cant wait to take my wife here. The food was amazing too
We had the prosciutto and apple bruchetta which had a perfect blend of flavor. The server was happy to throw some heat on it for me which I recommend. We had a Ceasars which was good and adequate. (My wife and I will likely split one of the other gourmet salads when we go)
We ended up ordering the two suggested entrees. My niece had the Mafia burger and I had the Branzino. Both absolutely excellent. She almost ate the whole thing and this was a huge burger and fries, even for a teenager. The serving on the fish was also very generous. The wine suggestion was perfect. The service was attentive but not overbearing.
I haven't been this impressed with a restaurant in a while. Great place to take a date. Will be back.
Special shout out to Liz who really made sure my evening...
Read moreI was lounging about on a Sunday night (wasnt planning to go out) but it was 10:30 pm and I was hungry for some non fast food dinner. I worried that this restaurant might be a trendy spot where I would feel underdressed in my workout gear, but I was very pleasantly surprised. No one gave me the judgemental once over, the employees seemed genuinely kind and welcoming. I felt right at home. I sat outside in the courtyard area as the inside kinda loud but not as bad as inside. I ordered chicken parm which came with homemade pasta - the dish included both marinara and Alfredo sauces which was a nice variety. Coating on chicken was pretty good and crispy. My table also ordered the chicken piccatta which was very underwhelming. It missed the mark...the sauce wasnt lemony and there was no lemon wedge served alongside. The chicken wasnt pounded thin in the traditional manner, and it included bones. They put so many capers on this plate they it could have been considered a side dish. The potatoes were what really left me scratching my head though...dare I say they seemed like instant potatoes, made with water. It was the weirdest thing. Extremely disappointing. The food all weirdly seemed to kind of lack flavor. I asked for salt and pepper but it didnt really make a difference in the taste. Service was slow but friendly. Not a bad meal to eat when nothing else is open, but not a place I'd go out of my way to dine at again. Just kinda...
