Today I came in and made a build your own pizza at the Fired Pie in Scottsdale on North Scottsdale Rd. I asked for basil on it. They put it together and then put the basil on at the end. The young man working today with shoulder length hair handed me my pizza and then walked away. I opened the pizza box and no basil. I also had not received my Macadamia Nut Pookie yet. I went to the counter and asked for the basil on the pizza, and he grabbed a handful and threw it on the pizza. He then said is there something else you needed? I was like my pookie. I saw him grab one out of the fridge and then throw it in the oven. Then he said it will be about 3-4 more minutes. They took the pookie out of the oven and wrapped it and I asked if it was the macadamia nut one and he said, "um no it is the chocolate chip" at that point I grabbed everything and walked out. I was not going to make a scene at the store, and I had already waited and was not going to wait for them to make another one. No apology or anything. The employee was also goofing off having found a target gift card laying on the floor. I am asking you to better train your employees. My order was very simple to get right but instead of confirming which pookie I wanted they assumed. A little extra customer service is not that hard. Just do your job and if you can't do that perhaps a customer service job is not for you! And yes, I am emotional about it I wanted to get this right for my son's 18th birthday today!
Although the service was horrible the pizza and the pookie are both very good. I have had better service at their other locations. I would recommend one of...
Read moreHaving a pizza made fast and in front of you is an excellent concept that fired pie executes consistently. The ability to put as many different toppings on your pizza is good, but how do they compare to the competition?
Fired pie dough is roughly average, nothing special here, and it may be slightly old looking depending on when pressed though it tastes fine every time.
Cheese variety is good considering they offer fresh mozzarella which is not available at some competitors.
Sauce variety is also fairly comparable, though I don't see room for innovation.
Topping portions are on the slightly generous side which is appreciated.
All the ingredients consistently feel fresh, and the location is kept clean, these two areas are where Fired Pie shines compared to other concepts. Yes it sounds simple to keep the restaurant clean, but that is still very much appreciated at...
Read moreWalked into the restaurant at 730pm. There was only one couple there eating. The young lady at the counter immediately told us they could only take online orders. I asked, if we placed an online order, could we get food? The girl said “ummmm….I guess” and then turned to her colleagues and continued a conversation we obviously interrupted. All staff standing around talking. No sign on the door and the website did not indicate online ordering only. No smell of pizza cooking or that they had an online rush. Se weird. I would suppose this place is doing too well to need in-person clientele. No worries- because Mod Pizza on Scottsdale Road was happy to take our business. They said they never turn customers away. I like their pizza...
