very sad, I wanted to like this. But it's just so bad... all the other reviews that mention the value were spot on. I wish I read them. This place appears to have been designed by an Accountant not a Chef. You get a 5-inch (and that's being generous) piece of white toasted bread with about enough lobster to feed a cat for $21.50 plus tax and tip. This is basically a lunch portion. No fries. A real lobster roll is supposed to be on a nice big roll. The Ambiance is just like Chipotle- walk up order then take a number. But I didn't go there for ambiance. I expected an actual man-sized sandwich. My 10-year-old finished his easily. I was still hungry and so we stopped at Whole Foods on the way home to grab something from the food court there. Bill with tip came to $65 for 2 "rolls" and a bland clam chowder. I knew something was wrong when I noticed at 5:30pm on a Wednesday there was no one there and this was the City North location where the streets were fairly busy. No one said thank you on the way out. They should have given me a form because this was basically a donation. 2 stars only because the lobster itself was fresh.
Watch now comes the AI-generated response from the owner "we are very sorry we didn't meet your expectations please contact us so that we can further assist you." No listen AI-Bot, get some decent bread and add some fries and either lower the price or increase the size of that thing...
Read moreI recently had a rather amusing yet frustrating experience at Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls in Scottsdale. As a first-time customer, I was looking forward to trying their renowned lobster rolls, but the service was a bit of a circus act. The cashier seemed to be in a rather altered state, and her grasp of the menu left much to be desired. When I asked for recommendations, she was as lost as I was, which didn’t help as I was new to the place.
The menu was a puzzle in itself, with pricing that looked as though it was designed by a spatial artist—lots of big gaps between numbers that made it difficult to understand. Two lobster rolls set us back over $60, which felt steep given the confusion surrounding the prices.
To top it off, we encountered a payment snafu. The cashier said she couldn’t give us change for cash, so I offered to pay with a credit card. However, she had already processed the transaction as cash and couldn't switch it, and her attempts to reach a manager were in vain. The other employee on duty also seemed unsure how to resolve the issue.
After requesting a refund, I left the restaurant without sampling the food, which was a real letdown as I walk by regularly and had high hopes. It seems like the staff could use some additional training to handle these situations more smoothly. Here's hoping they can sort things out so future customers can enjoy their lobster rolls without the extra side...
Read moreMy mother in law wanted to try this place, and we had noticed they posted a board outside that mentioned $5 for a hot dog and fries. We walked in, where the person working greeted us with “I’m super busy and by myself so it will be awhile” okay, sure no problem except she had one table of 2 at the time. We stood and waited patiently and 2 mins later she asked us what we wanted. I said I wanted to get the hot dogs for $5 that included fries to which she said “ya, we’re not doing that right now”.. well then why is it mentioned on the board right outside the restaurant? We had planned to order more, however her attitude was that of someone who was annoyed we were there in the first place and I decided that spending my money there wasn’t something I wanted to do. My kids enjoyed the hot dogs for what it’s worth, except the ketchup was like vinegar water out of the dispenser. Hopefully that was a one time thing as it seems most others have positive things to say. But I wouldn’t return due to how rude...
