I placed a to go order on the online platform provided around 6pm one night for a calzone, chicken wings, and an order of fries. I received a message after placing the order that it would be ready in about 30 minutes. 6:25, I walk into this restaurant, tell them my name, and am immediately met with confusion from the employees. Apparently, the online ordering platform currently does not work, and hasn’t seemed to work for a while. I was assured that I was NOT the only one this has happened to; however, that brought me no reassurance. I am on vacation with my wife, so I have a bit more patience than usual, so I ask how long the food will take (another 30 minutes per staff) and I go wait in the car with my wife. I walk back into the restaurant at 6:55, and am told that my order is not ready yet. I stand nearby and people-watch to kill time. Apparently, the line of people behind me are also waiting for either their own orders or to be seated at a table. There are 3 wry overwhelmed staff members working the front, with the kitchen staff remaining mostly unseen. The restaurant wasn’t busy, it appeared to have a decent amount of people, but there were still many empty tables. My order is finally called to be ready at 7:30pm, an entire 1.5 hours after initially ordering. The calzone was decent, I ain’t gonna hate on it. It’s did its job, as did the fries. However, the chicken had my wife incredibly and violently sick for the next 24 hours. A while after eating, she immediately felt ill and nauseous. She puked all night, unable to sleep due to her having to run to the bathroom to upchuck and dry heave to the point her entire body was sore the next morning. She didn’t get a minute of sleep that night. I’ve never seen her so sick and miserable, even when she had COVID. Her stomach was sincerely messed up for at least 3 days after consuming the food from this restaurant. I cannot recommend that you drive past this pizza place instead of going in. You WILL regret your decision if you order the chicken wings. I suspect they did not change their fry oil, but I’m sure this restaurant has several problems in their kitchen regarding food prep and...
Read moreI was visiting Seaside last week for the first time, and, being a pizza lover, spent some of my time asking locals where I could find the best pizza that Seaside had to offer. Just about every person I asked told me to go to Angelina's, and after my experience there, I can see why! I went with my family of 4, and we got a large pepperoni and ham (the kids aren't too adventurous), and a medium "Salad Topped Pizza," which we had never heard of. All we could say during our meal were combinations of "Oh my god," and "Mmmmmmm." Their ham is so thick and juicy, it's like someone cut up an Easter ham and put it onto your pizza. The sauce was delicious, and they are SO generous with the toppings and cheese. And don't even get me started on the salad topped pizza. It seemed to have some sort of garlic parmesan cheese sauce for the bottom, and then topped with whatever salad you'd like (we chose caesar). It was unbelievable. On top of the absolutely succulent food, their prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality. The owner, who seemed VERY busy and yet genuinely kind and caring, told us that they make just about everything in-house, including the dough! Even their sandwich bread is made from scratch, and we had the privilege to watch one of their employees making it during our stay. In conclusion, great service, very kind and attentive staff, reasonable prices, and ABSOLUTELY STUNNING pizza. This place has every right to call itself the "Best pizza on the north coast." I, personally, think this is one of the best pizza places in the U.S., and I couldn't imagine a better experience overall. I just wish there was an Angelina's in my hometown! DON'T GO TO SEASIDE WITHOUT...
Read moreWe stopped in for a pizza on Saturday after reading all the rave reviews. Somewhere my wife apparently saw some kind of statement that said "similar to Apizza Scholls". When I heard that, we turned around and went back to the restaurant to find out, as we've long been fans of Scholls which is widely considered the best pizza in Portland and possibly Oregon. Turns out, "similar" means they both make pizza. End of similarity.
Service was very good and fast, and the pizza was on the table in under 15 minutes. The help is all very friendly. Prices seem fairly reasonable too. Now, the pizza: Ours, for some reason, was baked on a screen; the little round char marks on the bottom gave that away. The crust? Fairly "doughy", not at all what I'd consider "crisp". Toppings? a LOT of cheese... in our view, about twice the amount we'd consider "normal". The rest of the toppings were tasty, crunchy bell peppers, nice sauce and all, but the combination of excess cheese and that doughy crust sort of put a damper on everything. And, the weird thing - as we were leaving, I spotted what appeared to be a "real" pizza oven up towards the "front" of the place... it did not appear to be in use, though, for some reason. So if they had a 'real' oven, why on earth would they bake pies on screens that likely was baked in a conveyor oven rather than a super-hot domed pizza oven? Anyway, I'd say the pizza was still "good" but not "Great".
We...
