We stumbled upon El Padrino after the pizza place next door couldn't accommodate our party of 6 – what a blessing in disguise! We were seated immediately and served promptly by a wonderful server who made our evening special.
The restaurant offers a nice selection of Mexican beers alongside wine (no margaritas), and we were treated to complimentary lentil soup that was absolutely delicious. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, including different moles and chili rellenos, and every single plate was outstanding. The staff even graciously accommodated one of our party members who can't eat cilantro, ensuring everyone could enjoy their meal.
As visitors from Tucson – where we're spoiled with incredible Mexican cuisine – we can say El Padrino's food rivals the very best of the Southwest! This is particularly impressive given how hard our group typically is to please!

Read moreWe just had our first meal here. OMG, it was outstanding. Their mole sauces are the best we've ever had. The lentil soup was very delicious. The hot chocolate drink made with corn was delicious and comforting. Like a warm blanket wrapped around you. Dessert was a flan like no other. It had the consistency of a combo of flan & cheesecake, with the right amount of sweetnessb. The whole meal from start to finish was Perfection. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The building is modest with large murals on the walls as well as on the tables of Oaxaca. So run don't walk to have a most delicious dining experience. 5+ stars from us. We can't wait to return for another...
