We had the shrimp cocktail 8.95, and the chowder bread bowl 13.95 and a Cpl drinks
The shrimp cocktail I found the shrimp to be very soft but my husband enjoyed it …. U get tons of shrimp for the price.
Now let’s talk about that chowder bread bowl - we tasted the chowder and it was pretty tasty, loaded with clams and potatoes…. Not overly rich…. But the bread was so stale and days old!!!! We couldn’t eat it…. So we asked to speak to a manager and she came didn’t seem to care what we had to say as she couldn’t wait to get away….. but when we said this is like day old bread, do they prep it the day b4 (the lid didn’t even match the bowl) but anyway she said yes we prep it the day before…. I’m sorry I’m a chef, a bread bowl takes seconds to cut open - cut it the day before and it will go stale, it’s bread ! Mo’s is letting their quality go down by serving stale bread - spend a Cpl seconds longer and prep the bread bowl as it is ordered…
Our servers were lovely, service was slow but the girl who replaced Rose S (Sofia R) was on her own and apologized for it.. they were both lovely happy friendly girls
We get our bill and the manager still charged us for that stale bread that we couldn’t and didn’t eat… the chowder was good, so a good way to make us happy she should have charged us for a bowl of chowder and not the 2 day old stale bread!!! Shame shame shame
On the receipt (attached) it says As set Warm So I’d assumed that meant chowder in the bowl but the bread warm, it was fridge cold!
I know it’s a chain and u don’t expect perfection but I def expect fresh bread!!!!!
The manager redeemed herself and did come to apologize and she also gave us 4 coupons for free chowder bowls so thank you for that.
We have been doing a west coast YouTube chowder review from California to Washington and this was such a let down - it wouldn’t have been so bad if she didn’t charge us for the bread after we raised the issue. I think it’s only an extra 1.50 - so wouldn’t have been a hard swallow for a company to at least remove the $1.50 bread charge for bread we couldn’t and didn’t eat - Come on MO’s !!! stand by your product and learn from...
Read moreI hesitate to write a low review (as 99% of my reviews are 5-star), but this was just a particularly bad experience. . We came in on a Sunday afternoon, restaurant was almost empty. We asked if the patio was heated and it was so we asked if we could sit there. Was told it was closed (it was pretty chilly outside, so undertandable) and we could get food ' to go' and eat there. Not a problem, I wanted to enjoy the view and would be happy to bus our own tables. . Ordered and paid at the cash register and asked we could have our food on a tray (again we are bussing our own tables and would bring it back inside) - was told we couldn't and I really didn't want to eat $60 of fish and chips out of a paper bag so I said we would just eat inside instead, as it was actually windier than I expected. . Was told we could sit at at table but that we not receive any table side service, as 'we had already paid'. Really don't understand the difference in paying before or after our food, as the price for food was the same (and I event tipped for my to-go order!).. so we sat down and I walked to the hostess just to get plates and silverware but was again told by another server we were ' to go' customers and could only get plastic forks. Mind you, this is a nearly-empty restaurant and we are literally doing all the 'serving' ourselves anyway. ; Manager came over with plates and was SO RUDE to us for reasons we can't understand. From reading other reviews, it sounds like bad attitude is a common theme and maybe they don't need the business. As other reviews have also said, food is pretty mediocre - you just come for the view and (hopefully) a nice staff experience, but this was not the case. Only bright point was a young male server with blond-ish hair who was...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars, I would. Extremely rude, biased staff member. Unfortunately, the only one I interacted with.
I've always wanted to try Mo's so stopped by to pick up a bowl of clam chowder on December 9th - waited in line 10-15 minutes to submit my order. It was cold & windy that evening & a bread bowl of warm chowder sounded perfect.
When it was my turn to order, the young man who was taking orders ignored me and tried to take the order of the couple standing behind me. After they indicated I was next in line he asked them if we were together. They stated we were not. He then asked me if I had my cell phone on me (He had not asked the people ordering in front of me if they had a cell phone on them). I stated I did. He promptly told me that if I wanted to place an order I needed to call it in. I told him it was frustrating to wait in line, in the cold, to be turned away. His extremely rude response was, "well, that's unfortunate for you," and he promptly began to try to take the order from the people behind me.
I left and needless to say, I did not call an order in. None of the signage indicated call in was required but I returned the next morning just in case I had overlooked some instruction that stated call in orders were required or even preferred.
I have not been to Seaside since Spring and do not understand why the unprofessional young man tasked with taking orders was so rude. He has no business being in any type of customer service or public interacting position.
I will not return here, nor do I plan to try any of their other establishments and do not recommend this...
