Batch Baking Company — Restaurant in Seattle

A group of friends and I did a focaccia baking class hosted by the owner, Jared. One of my friends coordinated the class with Jared, and payment was super easy and Jared was very responsive leading up to the class. I had not looked up Batch before the class, so I was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see it was a small, intimate shop and the owner was going to be instructing! He had cookies and focaccia ready for us when we arrived (which were HEAVENLY!!! Such delicious cookies - the peanut butter ones were divine. He also had vegan options for our vegan friend!).

I have never baked bread before so was slightly intimidated but Jared made it super easy. He gave us a handout with the recipe and instructions, and it was half demonstration, half hands-on. Not only did we learn how to make focaccia, but we also learned how to make focaccia pizza and bread twists! Jared was super friendly and fun throughout the class, too. We asked him lots of questions about the process and also his background and passion for baking. It was the perfect intimate setting. Being able to have that connection with the owner was really special, too! I loved hearing his story.

He offers a couple of different types of cooking classes, and we enjoyed it so much that we are already looking at doing another one. If you're looking for a fun activity, I'd highly recommend...

I'm a baker and have been very =/ about baked goods in the area for a couple of years now. Spotted this place and was amazed to see the high ratings. I tried the oreo-like square, peanut butter sandwich, chocolate chunk, and peanut butter chocolate brownie. I told myself, "Probably nothing special, just try a bite of each." I was so wrong... I was so impressed with textures, flavors, balance, portion, high-quality ingredients, FRESHNESS that I ate them all in about 10 minutes. I went back two more times within the week because I couldn't stop thinking about how satisfying they are. I moaned eating the caramel chocolate chunk. Can't tell you how happy it makes me to have found a baker's delight...

After a quick search, I stumbled on Batch Baking Company as an option to send cookies to some of the staff at Harborview Medical Center. The reviews were fantastic and the menu looked equally good. I had trouble placing the order online so I called and spoke with Jared. The customer service and accommodation Jared provided was top notch. He sent me a message after the cookies were delivered to inform me they made it to their destination. Living in Illinois, I unfortunately have not had any of the items myself but will definitely visit if I ever make it to Seattle. Thank you Jared for all of...
