I understand why people are skeptical of ghost kitchens. Sometimes it’s misleading, like a national chain trying to create extra revenue by presenting itself as a different restaurant (Pasqually’s Chicken and Wings is actually Chuck E Cheese for one example). This isn’t the case for all ghost kitchens though, and I’ve had plenty of great food from the shared facilities with multiple kitchen operations. It’s simply a different business model that fits in with the boom in food delivery services. Ben’s Fast Food is a really nice example. I was literally about to order from Taco Bell because it’s cheap, but I really didn’t want to eat Taco Bell. I ended up finding this place on DoorDash and my entire meal plus delivery costs less than what I was going to order from Taco Bell! It has everything I would want out of a healthy “bowl” meal that’s balanced and tasty in every component, all while costing far less than…well, pretty much every restaurant in this city. Your only other options are gas station food, a few certain dishes if you know where to go for them (shoutout to braised pork belly bowls and bahn mis) and straight up free food operations. That’s not including cooking at home of course. Regardless, I really appreciate having this as an option when affordability is a rarity in these times. This is hardly a review any more but this is an exceptional model that I hope more can follow. Everyone needs good...
Read moreI made an online order and my food was done very quickly. Google maps first took me to the other side of the store on 99 and I was kind of confused on where it was at. Once I finally found where I was going, there weren't any directions other than my food would be in a locker. I showed the screen my phone order and it could not find my name at all. I searched manually for my name and also could not find my order. At this point, my order have been ready for about 20 minutes. I was luckily able to stop someone who helps me grab my order from behind the locker. But I'm not sure how I would have gotten it otherwise. I had the hardy chicken bowl with pickled onions. The portion was good but a little skimpy on the meat. Price was good and will order extra meat next time. Overall okay but directions could have been...
Read moreI am the first person to support small local businesses, but honestly I was significantly disappointed after I placed an Uber Eats pick up order for a $23 Wagyu salad that ended up having no dressing or sauce included in the bag (I ordered the rosemary balsamic sauce) The whole dish was completely dry with wilted lettuce. I called Uber Eats and they advised me the only option is for me to drive all the way back to the restaurant to pick up the missing item —Im a 15 min drive from there one way. Then I attempted to contact the restaurant directly and you can’t even get in touch with them it just routes you back to placing an order for the future. It is impossible to speak to a real human at this establishment. Extremely disappointed with a $23 bowl that was completely dry and flavorless. Would...
