This place is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall; it’s a takeout window and that’s it. a pretty interesting ordering experience I decided to get a pollo adobada and a campechano taco, along with an al pastor mulita starting with the namesake tacos, i thought they were good but not spectacular. the corn tortillas were super fresh, and were well cooked. what impressed me here, though, were the portions of filling - particularly the meat. both tacos were basically stuffed with the meat as far as the meat, the chorizo had a pretty good flavor. however, i couldn’t really taste much of the steak & potatoes in the campechano taco. the chicken was not dry and you could tell it had been marinated, but i thought the seasoning on it could’ve been better these also came with two large cups of spicy salsa, which was fantastic however, something seemed to be missing from these tacos - as they tasted a little plain. maybe it’s that there wasn’t enough vegetables, or not enough built-in sauce, but mostly the bite consisted of corn tortilla & meat in each. even after adding the salsa it still was on the dryer side i did think the mulita was a lot better though, and that’s primarily due to the addition of the cheese. the cheese gave it a different texture and softer flavor, that soaked up the meat. I also thought the al pastor was marinated much better than both other types of meat - it was my favorite of the three. the addition of the pineapple also really helped here as well for the price of around 3.50/taco and 5/mulita, it’s not the cheapest tacos in town, but it is still a really good deal comparing it to everything else. the portion sizes, especially the filling, were quite good comparing this to the nearby Tacos Chukis, I do think that place is better because their tacos are juicier, have more moisture, and at least one allows for cheese within as a default option, unlike here. I also think their mulita is more crispy. Overall, despite the unassuming appearance, this place does have pretty solid tacos to check out, although i might explore more of the other dishes next time. 8.25/10

Total hole in the wall with a small seating area - this little gem is located within a market and good luck finding parking. Plan to get in and then get out. The homemade tortillas are thick, tasty, and have the best texture, they are in the spotlight here. The way the salsas are used complements both the taste and presentation of the tacos. The food here is representing central Mexico, and it doesn't disappoint. The asada tacos are the most popular but I preferred the Campechano taco, and we also loved their special which included slow cooked beef tacos with consome (a hot broth, served way too hot so ten cuidado) on the side that was sooo satisfying. They also had excellent horchata and friendly, prompt service in an open kitchen that we got to watch make our food. We definitely paid Seattle prices for these tacos ($40 after tip for two hungry people) but was worth it considering these are the best tacos we've found in the Seattle area yet, and boy have we been searching for good tacos 'round here.

I'd like to show you a picture of my bill. I ordered from Yelp and I literally live around the corner but due to health concerns I'm not really mobile at the moment. Either way, I was overcharged. I was charged $42 for two items that were $12 and I'm very very upset by this. There was no drinks. There was nothing and the not only that the order was wrong and I'd like to know why I'm contacting Yelp as well. I sent you guys an email regarding this. It is on your Capitol Hill location on 12th avenue where I had this happen for the second time. This is the second time this has happened and I'm a little upset and I would like my money back this time or at least part of it. You know that part yep and now if it's the building or the staff in my building that's associated with doing this as well, I would like to be notified. Who did it? Is it yelp's fault? And I'm going to say yeah it's yelp's fault or the restaurant's fault because the order was wrong in the first place that part. Yeah the order was wrong in the first place. Don't come on hot dog buns dude Tortas don't come on hot dog buns or with cheese At least not the kind of shoes that was on mine and it wasn't even on tortas bun right You made it look like two burritos and that's a problem because that's not what I f** ordered and I have the receipt to prove it. So what the hell's going on and this was again at your 12th avenue location to how did Espanol I speak Spanish and I would know being from Yakima Trust me, I know exactly. Exacto more exacto how the food here is. I eat here kind of frequently and so I'm disgusted that this occurred this time because I know that somebody did it on purpose and I'd like $24 of those dollars back because I literally live around the corner so there was no reason for this, especially on our delivery....

What heavenly burrito dreams are made of.

I have had their tacos before (also very good!!) and was craving a burrito big time. I haven't considered the Mexican food in Seattle to be super amazing (especially when it comes to vegetarian options) but thought Carmelo's would be my best shot to satisfy the craving. Ordered the vegetarian mushroom chili burrito (Hongo al ajillo) with cheese, my husband got the al pastor, plus horchatas, of course.

WOW I haven't had a burrito this good in a minute. The first bite was ungodly good. They toast their burritos on the grill (as all good burrito places should) and the flavor combinations and ratios were spot on. Bonus was the excellent salsas you can pour on top of each bite that came with the order - green for a flavor blast and red for more spicy. Horchata washed it all down perfectly. Plus staff was so so friendly, prices are some of the best you'll find in Cap Hill and our order was done super quick. My burrito was so good I ate the second half of it while walking home because I couldn't resist eating the rest any longer.

Do yourself a favor and stop by for a burrito here that will melt your...
