Great place to stay. I really like the amenities here (the gym and pool). I only wish there was a breakfast buffet, but there’s a great bagel shop in the lobby so that makes up for it. There’s a microwave in the lobby as well which is nice if you want to heat up any leftovers.
I prefer this gym over the Grand Hyatt’s. I think this gym has more machines than the Grand Hyatt’s gym. It’s pretty busy in the mornings (7-8a on weekdays), but it clears out between 8a-9a. And even when it is busy I can usually find a space to stretch or a machine to do my workout on. They didn’t have a squishy foam mat or bosu ball which I use occasionally and the yoga mats are quite thin so sometimes I have to double-up to protect my knees, but it was overall a really nice, spacious gym for a hotel with lots of machines (cardio, weight training, benches & dumbbells)
I really like how this Hyatt has pool. And when I go on the weekday evenings it’s not usually occupied. There’s 3 lanes I think and they’re all very shallow (4 ft or under), so you can’t dive, but it’s good to get your laps in. There’s also a hot tub as well that’s nice to relax in.
They also have a really luxurious gym locker room with lots of complimentary amenities. There’s a sauna and a steam room. The showers have stone-like walls, and have the standard shampoo, conditioner, and body wash but they also have shaving cream! The sink counter has mouthwash, lotion, shower caps, disposable combs, hair gel, hair spray, as well as hairdryers. They also have cotton swab, razors, tampons, and deodorants. Pretty much anything you need in a locker room they have. I was really impressed.
The room we stayed in was nice and clean, and I didn’t find it to be noisy during our week stay. We had daily house cleaning and they refilled the body lotion and the hand-washing bar soap every day, which I appreciated. We had a mini fridge in the room. There was no microwave, but there’s one in the lobby. I also like how the Aquafina water bottles in the room are complimentary
The elevator can get really busy during high traffic times like weekday evenings or weekend mornings. Not to mention this hotel hosts a lot of conferences so sometimes there’s just a lot of people coming in and out from the 3rd floor (where the conference rooms are). But outside of that time the elevator was timely.
I also like the location of the hotel. It’s right in the middle of downtown and it’s right next to the mall where Din Tai Fung and Pike Place Chowder is (and also the movie theater is), so you don’t have to walk too far for food.
Overall I really like staying at this Hyatt. Even though it’s not the Grand Hyatt, I really like the amenities (pool and gym) and would prefer staying here over the...
Read moreConsidered 3 Hyatts in the area and settled on this for the "green" certification. Was questioning my hotel choice after check-in. Don't get me wrong but, it might as well have been picking up food from McDonald's (sorry, McDonald's probably had better greetings and welcome words for me and my business). Room card keys, sheet of info paper on what the hotel offers given, we were pointed to the elevators.
First day experience was not all bad thanks to the VERY warm and friendly welcome of the staff/doorman upon our arrival.
Second day was just as the 1st day, only from a different front desk gentleman. IF only the TV option for Guest Servies/Requests was working (we actually tried for the very same reason of going to the Front Desk AGAIN), then we could have saved ourselves the same disappointment from a customer service point of view. Or, was it just early in the day?
We'd given up on the staff service and attitude but (!!!!), then came Eugene (and Jess?)!!!! Without much fanfare, we were blown away by how simple basic things accorded to guests like us, can make a difference!
A WARM smile and greeting doesn't cost anyone a LOT! BUT, believe you me, it was the best feeling ever. Know what else? And Hyatt, take note for your staff training..... Eugene offered us umbrellas to take as it was raining, not just showering.
Returning from dinner, when we returned the umbrella, was offered the same warm smile and attitude with the ff. words, and I quote, "Thank you for returning the umbrellas (in a tone that made us feel appreciated)."
Now, compare that to the following day's experience.
Rainy day, we went to the Front Desk to borrow an umbrella and was informed to (pls... confirmed with my friend, no pls., just my normal thought to txt process typing) return the umbrella. Two different manner in handling the same situation yet, 2 different Guest customer service effect. BTW, the Front Desk staff was the same gentleman on our Check-in.
Overall: Location - great Room - great Housekeeping. - great (encountered the staff on the day our room was scheduled to be cleaned, very courteous and our room was as clean and sweet smelling as it was on our 1st day) One comment/request: Would be great if coffee and tea service/supplies were replenished daily without going thru the Front Desk - see 2nd day experience.
Would I stay here again? Only if I will be so blessed to have the likes of Eugene and Jess at...
Read moreSuper friendly front receptions and managers. The moment I entered the hotel after a long commute, I feel happy that someone just there to speak with the guest and makes them relax a bit.
The manager also let me know that there's fitness center on the 2nd floor with swimming pool and sauna. If you forget to bring your swimming suit, there's an old navy store and many places around to get one. I visited the swimming pool and the water was in perfect temperature- warm and relaxing.
There's also a spa on the second floor with massage and a nail salon. Didn't get to visit but good to hear their service.
There’s a coffee shop and a restaurant within the hotel, very convenient to grab a drink.
I appreciate the spa fruity water at the lobby. Overall very nice amenities.
The room was spotless clean. There's tea and water. Small compartment but good enough to put many things. There's a small fridge which usually I don't like it in the room because of the noise but this one was quiet enough that it did not bothers me.
One of the late night I was wondering where to go to heat up my food. I called the help desk to find out where the microwave is. Amazing that they said they will send one to my room. In few mins someone came with a microwave and I was able to use it whenever I needed.
The room feels very safe and it has a nice working desk. WiFi was good enough for working and for conference/ video calls.
The hotel itself is in the downtown and .2 ml from the Pacific Center / Din Thai Fung building with many shops. There's an Amazon locker at the same building, I was able to purchase things I need during my trip and pick it up there.
I use Uber to get to the hotel from SEA airport about $35. Then my daily commute to my office near the Pier 55 was around $8 overall very convenient and I can always request a Uber and arrive to the hotel within 3 minutes.
The only down side during my stay was I requested a quiet room and I was on 15th floor aka the quiet room floor during my stay, but there was crazy construction going on at midnight from 11PM-5AM for 3 nights from Sunday-Tuesday on Feb 24-27th. I woke up in the early morning because of the noise almost every hour then I moved myself to the bed closer to the hallway which helps a bit away from the noise coming out at the window side.
I will visit again and hopefully it's a real nice quiet room. I will recommend this hotel to my friends, colleagues...
