So my haircut experience hasn't been the best in Seattle, and this barbershop is added to the list, never to return. I booked an appointment with the barber Andy, and before I drove to the barbershop, I called and asked if the barber Andy was versed in cutting black texture hair. Unfortunately, this is my new procedure since I moved to Seattle because I have been denied service from barbershops due to their lack of skill. I respect this because you are being honest about your skillset, and you want to make sure all parties involved are satisfied. As I was on the phone with a barbershop representative, they were shocked that I asked this question and directed the phone conversation to Andy, which aggressively came to the phone and said," Why are you asking if I can cut black hair? Is it because I am not black? " Then I said, "No, not at all. I am just asking if you have the skillset because I have been turned away from multiple barbershops due to my lack of experience. Then Andy says, "Yes, I can. I have many black clients! To which I replied, "Wonderful. I will be there shortly. "When I arrived, I saw Andy. I say hello. Then they express that they aren't cutting my hair. Another Barber will be cutting my hair, which was odd because I booked an appointment with Andy, but I am a team player, so I just rolled with it. As I am getting my haircut from my new barber, I ask him why I am not in Andy's chair? He says, "Oh because they were offended that you asked if they can cut black hair. "After hearing this, I immediately realized that I walked into a barbershop that genuinely doesn't respect POC clients. They have the most challenging time comprehending the difficulties of finding someone who can cut your hair as a POC in Seattle. Unfortunately, I will continue my search of finding a barber in Seattle. I want to thank the barber who cut my hair and ear, but all has...

I wanted to try this barbershop that was near my place even though I have been going to my previous barber/barbershop for the past seven years! I was apprehensive at first, about trying a new place; however, my recent visit to this incredible new barber has absolutely turned me into a faithful customer.
I walked in with my medium-ish length hair with a middle part, and was hoping for a fresh take on my style but still keeping the middle part. The barber welcomed me warmly, immediately easing my nerves. He took the time to thoroughly understand my hair type, the look I was going for, and my personal style. His expert advice and confident demeanor assured me that I was in capable hands.
The haircut itself was nothing short of a masterpiece. With remarkable attention to detail, the precision of his cuts, his understanding of how to shape and texture, resulted in a look that was exactly what I'd envisioned - perhaps EVEN BETTER. What truly elevates this barber above the rest, however, is the unforgettable experience he creates. The shop boasts a stylish, clean, and comfortable atmosphere, making every minute enjoyable.
To say I'm pleased with the result is an understatement. I walked out of the shop feeling refreshed, confident, and excited about my cut. It is without a doubt that I will be returning here for my future haircuts, (I'll be coming back today for my bi-weekly haircut).
If you're considering a change in your barber routine or just looking for a top-tier haircut, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. This barber doesn't just give you a haircut - he provides an experience and a transformation that will exceed your...
Read moreI was hesitant to go in to begin with since a simple cut costs $38, but it looked like they do a pretty good job so decided to give it a go. Knowing that they take walk-ins, I arrived and took a seat since all the barbers were busy. Nobody said hello or welcomed me or asked me to do anything, so I just sat down. I was the only person in the waiting area. About 15 minutes go by and another guy walks in. He walks past me and goes around a corner to an area where I can't see him. I figured he's a regular and probably has an appointment. But he came back a few seconds later and sat down. Okay, cool, he's waiting too. Well, soon enough, one of the barbers finished up and said goodbye to her client. Then she says, looking at me, "Are you [name]?" I say no, but the other guy speaks up and says that he is. She immediately takes him and starts working on him. In that moment, I realized he was also a walk-in! I went over to where I saw him go earlier, and that's when I noticed a walk-in sign-in chalkboard! It was out of plain view. So, right in front of both the barber and the guy who just sat in her chair (just a couple feet away), I wrote my name in chalk. Didn't faze either of them, knowing that I had been sitting there for a while already. Yes, instead of speaking up like an assertive person, I did just walk out at that point. So, two things, Acme:
Put your chalkboard where it can actually be noticed by people who have never been there before! Welcome people as they walk in and make sure they know what to do. It's pretty basic customer service.
None of that aloofness was worth $38, I don't care how good you are. I was willing to try it, but I won't...
