Well, it's time to find a new poke place. The attention put into building bowls and the friendliness towards customers has really really REALLY declined in the last few months.
The employees rush through the ordering process, often speaking over customers because they are already focused on the next step before finishing the previous step (consequently messing up the order). They are so focused on being done with your bowl that they don't hear you/pay attention enough to listen to the order and put the bowl together as requested. 9/10 times I order from here, whether it's in person or online for pick-up, I open my bowl to find entire ingredients are left out, including toppings that require additional pay. I understand if this happens every so often, but it’s been almost each time I’ve gone here.
I've been here 10+ times, with the same exact order, and every time I've gotten a different combination of missing items, or dry chewy rice with missing sauces, or goopy fish, or stale wontons. I really wanted to give this place a chance because it's really close to me, plus you really do get a decent amount of food for the money. However, the lack of reliability is has ultimately left me impatient and unsatisfied with the food.
It’s disappointing and frustrating to pay $18 + tip and to not receive the dish that I requested to be built. They really used to be a 5 star place, and while the pandemic has presented it's own challenges, the complete lack of care and customer service is inexcusable.
If you plan on ordering food from FOB, I STRONGLY encourage you to at least do it in person so you can make sure all your requested ingredients make it into the bowl, even if the employees are grumpy...
Read morePrevious review: Favorite poke spot. Big portions. Decent price($15). Cute inside and fairly healthy. Btw I hate fish but I always get shrimp or tofu. Wide range of toppings and always fresh.
Update: after asking for a large bowl with my protein being tofu(which is what I always get) and not letting me know ..they proceeded to switch my bowl to small mid way through choosing toppings … moved me along toward the end to pay and once I realized at the end my bowl was now a small salad.. I went to the front to get it switched ….they refused to give me tofu in a large bowl with same toppings and kept saying it wasn’t a protein when it is … not sure why it couldn’t have just been poured into a large bowl with a little bit more toppings.. but when I got home it didn’t even have the small portion of tofu in it so I assume they couldn’t even hear me with masks and accent barrier even though I repeatedly said tofu throughout the process ..I’m gonna skip out on frustration and get poke elsewhere...
Read moreIt's been 5 years since I was last in Seattle and FOB Poke is one of the foods I used to love.
Came here and have forgotten the process to order and all and clearly by the looks of it the lady should have known that I had no clue about the order process. I just pointed out the ones I want and she rudely told me to put my hands away even though I did not even touch anything. She could have just told me politely to look at the board on the wall cuz I was too excited to order and missed out on the instructions on the wall.
Turns out I have to pick the base first which I said rice and she again rudely asked 'what type of rice?' and gave me looks that made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
Clearly there are reviews saying that the service is bad and rude so I am not the only one.
Went to another FOB Poke Bar in a different location and the service was so much better. They are so much more polite and was even patient with my mom who was also confused cuz it was her first time eating in...
