I never write bad reviews about places but here it goes.
I've been to Glos several times for brunch, even excitedly bringing out of town visitors since it's essentially the only place to get a decent breakfast in the neighborhood
I also come nearly every single Sunday to get coffee during the farmers market but after my visit today I won't be back.
I walked in to order coffee per usual and I stood there for 5 minutes before the 2 baristas even acknowledged me, and when the young man did walk up to take my order he asked "has anyone helped me yet"...(him asking that questions just doubled down on his lack of situational awareness) no clearly not I'm standing here and you haven't noticed me in 5 minutes. They were busy making drinks and I get that and usually give a lot of grace to busy servers/baristas as I've done the job before so I get it...but while they were busy supposedly backed up making drinks the 2 baristas had no problem chatting with a friend of there's who was also at the counter; so you were too busy to even look up for 10 seconds and say "hey, give us a second and we will be with you" but not busy enough to have a full blown conversation with your friend?
Train your staff better. Period. Customers should come before leisurely conversations especially if you're in a a rush to make drinks. Again it takes 5-10 seconds to look up and welcome someone.
To make matters worse when they finally did make my drink they forgot the vanilla (I ordered a vanilla ice latte) and I got my drink after a lady who ordered after me got hers
For someone who comes in weekly, tips well and is always friendly to the baristas it was just a jarring experience to essentially feel completely invisiblized and on top of that written off by the staff because when I told the baristas I was frustrated that they had ignored me for 5 minutes and then made a woman's drink who ordered after me before mine I was rudely written off and told I should be understanding since they were busy. Literally the guy barista told me "if you worked in the industry before you should know this isn't helpful or productive" when I voiced my frustration.
Needless to say I won't ever be coming back to Glos. I definitely feel like if I was a white customer I would not have been treated to or talked to this way and likely wouldn't have been ignored (because even with how busy they were a white couple walked in before I ordered and the host immediately enthusiastic greeted and...
Read moreWe were told about how great the food was at the joint. We went on a Sunday morning, so are 95 minute wait was not so bad due to the fact that they had the Farmers Market. We finally get seated, I could tell the waiter was attracted to me and was flirting with me although my girlfriend was right across from me.
The real issue was when our food was presented at the table. My girlfriend how to order the omelette. She asked if it could be be cooked Softly specifically said between the point of being slightly runny too soft point. Also she asked that her hash browns be made very crispy.. Waiter Shrugged his shoulders but said okay.
I ordered the house braised corned beef hash. I had a few bites of it and I have to say it was delicious.Jenny ordered the vegetarian omelette. It was dropped down on the table, the omelette was so hard and it could easily bounce off the plate and the hash browns were no different than mine. To add insult to injury she cut the middle of The Omelette open and there were two black short curly hairs in The Omelette. We stopped this other guy who who was walking by and ask for our waiter. He said how can I help you. Jenny Jenny said look at my omelette. He said what's the problem. She said there are hairs in my omelette. There were two short curly black hairs in The Omelette. She proceeded to say aside from that I asked for my omelet to be soft and hash browns crispy. She pointed out that there was no difference between my hash browns and hers. The guy stated are you always this picky? Jenny said, I didn't see hair as one of the items on the menu for my omelette. She said I asked for the eggs to be soft and my hash browns crispy. She said my eggs are hard and hash browns soft. If it was a request the cook couldn't accommodate they should have said so.
Jenny asked to speak with the manager and he proceeded to say that he was the manager. He grabbed our plates and said you can leave now. I was in such shock from the guy's statement that I just got up and told Jenny let's go. As we got up he told Jenny we don't need any of your fake friendly personality fake tits or your excessive demands. After that statement, I wanted to punch the guy. Jenny was in tears after the guy's statement, I grabbed her hand and we walked out.
With so many great breakfast spots in Seattle, why would anybody want to support this type of...
Read more2nd time visiting the restaurant. Went there with our small service dog. Immediately gave us a hard time regarding the dog and the owner yelled from the kitchen that he did not believe our dog was a service dog although we had his vest and his registered service dog card. We were seated an hour later and ordered drinks and our meals. My wife's cappuccino gets served to her and it was.a little clumpy..she inquired about and the appearance of the coffee.and the server proceeded to.state that lattes have a.smoother consistency and have thebleaf pattern on top she let that one slide and we waited for our food to arrive. My eggs Benedict and her vegetable omelette arrived. Eggs Benedict looked great but her omelette was on the.harder side. My eggs Benedict looked delicious and had one bite of my hash browns which were great. You could have thrown her omellete against the wall and it would have slapped you right back in the face The manager of the restaurant walks.by and she told.him that she ordered her omelette soft. She asked the manager if the omelette looked. Like it.was soft and he proceeded to say that ĺt looked soft and said "do you always have a problem with everything" he then proceeded to grab our plates and said we're done you can leave. Keep in mind that this is the second time we were dining at the establishment. It's shocking to see a restaurant that has many employees of the LGBTQ community treat people in such a manner. It felt like reverse discrimination because my girl brought her emotional support animal. Enzo our fur baby sat under the table quietly the entire time we were there. Didn't move or make a.sound. Is thisnhow customers should be treated. We went to toulouse petite in queen anne they were very welcoming served a perfectly prepared omelette for her, delicious beignet, pressed coffee, and French onion, and prawns with chorizo. The host of the restaurant and server were very friendly and...
