WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD!!! (and this is no exaggeration!!!)
I went there a few months ago for a friend's birthday party. There were about 20 of us. While minor mistakes are bound to happen when serving large parties, our service was essentially nonexistent. Other than our party, the place wasn't that crowded. However, we only had one server and almost never saw her.
It took forever to get our drinks and once we ordered, we essentially never saw the server again until she brought out the check. A few of the orders were wrong, with a couple of people not even getting what they ordered at all. Once this was brought to their attention, they still did not bring out what had been ordered. Additionally, my wife's chicken she ordered was completely uncooked when they brought it out. When I complained to the server and a busser, they both completely ignored me. After 10 minutes, I ended up walking the plate to a chef in the kitchen for them to cook it longer. Of course, when they finally brought it out again, it was completely burnt.
At no point during the meal did the server, the manager, or anyone else come by to apologize for the undercooked food, screwed up orders, or let alone check on our party of 20+ to simply see if we needed more drinks, etc...
When the bill finally came, these clowns had left food on the bill that our group had never received. Additionally, because there were more than 6 of us they had taken the liberty of already charging an 18% tip to the bill! I was furious and had previously planned on not tipping at all (and I never do that but the service was absolute garbage). I really wanted to complain to the manager but my wife kept elbowing me and wanted me to keep quiet. Additionally, our friends don't like to rock the boat or complain about things so they refused to complain about the horrible service, food and experience.
Other than the terrible service, and undercooked (and overcooked chicken), their...
Read moreI recently visited I Love Sushi to celebrate my brother’s birthday with our family. The atmosphere of the restaurant was okay, the food was not bad, and the service was decent. However, I was disappointed with one aspect of my experience: when I brought in a cake for the birthday, the restaurant charged me a fee for bringing in my own dessert.
While I understand that restaurants may charge a fee for bringing in outside food, I was surprised to learn that there would be a charge for bringing in our own birthday cake. In my opinion, this was an unnecessary and disappointing addition to my overall dining experience. The fee felt like an unwelcome surprise, especially since I had not been informed of it when I made the reservation or when I called to confirm my reservation.
Furthermore, the fee seemed excessive and unfair. I felt that it was unreasonable to be charged such a high amount for simply bringing in a cake that I had purchased myself, especially after spending a few hundred on dinner. It left a sour taste in my mouth, and it detracted from the joy of my birthday celebration.
Overall, while I enjoyed the food and atmosphere of I Love Sushi, the charge for bringing in my own cake was a major downside to my experience. I hope that the restaurant can reconsider their policy on outside desserts, or at the very least, communicate their fees more clearly to...
Read moreWhat a condescending experience! This restaurant was the only place that was totally empty on the marina. We had expectations of some of the best sushi in town. Menu is awkwardly placed outside causing you to have to exit to read it. Then you go back in and order at the front, then walk outside again and around the building to the patio.
Person at the front said they'd bring us our food but honestly, we didn't bother to wait. The patio area didn't even have the heater on, probably because the place was totally empty. To top it off, we were going to wait for our third to join us, so we asked for some water and tea. They told us they couldn't heat anything up. What Japanese restaurant can't serve hot tea?!
We were given two bottles of Ice Mountain for a total cost of $8. Seriously?
Not surprised you're empty. Try treating your potential patrons like you're happy they're there. Turn on the heat. Don't gouge people for water at a supposedly top restaurant. Instruct the hostess not to act like they're put out by customers.
For all your covid precautions inside you don't even have hand sanitizer or dividers on your patio. Just an awful experience. Go across the street to Duke's or next door to White Swan Public House. They actually turn on the heat and can seat patrons. If you're really craving sushi there are a ton of better options...
