Profit over people, plain and simple.
First, look at ALL of the vacancies coming up. There is a reason for that. No one stays here.
Second, even though there are many empty apartments, they want to show my apartment while in the middle of packing and preparing to move. How thoughtful.
They will make moving more complicated and difficult than it already is.
They will make life more difficult than it already is in the following ways:
If you want to live in a building where they are constantly entering your living space for inspections and maintenance, live here.
They even came in for a "pre-move out inspection" where they take pictures of all of your things. They say it's "just" policy so they can get the apartment ready for the next occupants. So, essentially, they prioritize future tenants over current tenant's right to privacy.
Never, in all my time of renting, has a property management company entered my living space so many times.
2.Since the windows don't open you have to completely rely on the air conditioner to regulate the temperature, but it's unreliable and breaks and then you're stuck without being able to regulate the temperature of your space because the windows don't open.
3.If you want to have to dry your clothes 2+ times with a normal size load, move here. Oh yes and they will tell you that it's normal for this much better type of dryer.
You have to wait for cold water to come out of the tap. It's cold for a split second then warm for like 30 seconds. This may sound small, but wait until you get the water bill.
My biggest complaint is that they enter private living spaces so often and they don't care how it affects you, they just say, well we are abiding by the advance notification to enter law. OTHER apartments do not do this. This is WEIRD behavior. If you don't want...
Read moreExtremely unresponsive property management company. Getting any response takes days and multiple follow-ups. The phone number of the apartment and Walls Property Management doesn't work so you can never speak someone but will send dozens of emails instead. You can hear every footstep of your neighbors upstairs.
There's been so many maintenance issues, they had to disable tenants from creating them and send an email telling people to stop ping them.
They are currently trying to pressure me into signing a lease for a different unit even though they want to me evacuate given there's AC issues in my apartment. They said my only option is to sign a new lease and I'd be on the hook for my current lease (even though my unit needs construction that will make in uninhabitable?) My wall has mold and I'm stuck while they're attempting to do construction, while trying to make me on the hook for my lease.
Do not move here :(. My AC unit leaked gallons of water for 4 months before anything was fixed. Quality control of the building is very low even though it looks really nice.
Update 10/13/2023: My AC unit began leaking large amounts of water again after an inspection was performed. Management has unsurprisingly been unresponsive.
Update: 11/28/2023: After I called my property manager to follow-up again, I got a response saying they would let me leave and offered $500 as a parting gift. Despite this I'm still leaving this review as a one star. I think the customer experience was too poor. Even if my rent had been somehow reduced by half and I could live in an identical unit, I'd still move out. There's just been too many instances of slow responses from management. This is my way of trying to ensure this changes for...
Read moreLike most, I was impressed by the great view of downtown and Space Needle. The appliances and finishes inside the units while touring also helped seal the deal. After having lived at Bell View for over a year, I cannot recommend this building to anyone, especially as a woman.
To start, the area feels very unsafe. Because you are at the bottom of a hill and the building is next to a walking/bike path adjacent to I-5, you are extremely isolated and would have to yell for someone to hear you even if they're just a couple feet away. This paired with the range of individuals who use this path to get to the camps near the building, I always felt on high alert when walking my dog. It also was common to see car windows smashed on this street since it's off the main road. There was a dog relief area in the building, but it was always disgusting and not cleaned. Only towards the end of my lease did they start hiring cleaning crew for the building.
The dryer in my unit was a condenser type. It would take hours sometimes to dry a small load of laundry. The repair person who came to look at my dryer (it was taking like 4+ cycles to dry things eventually) said these were the worst types of dryers to get. In addition to this, I had my AC cooling nonstop even during the winter because it was so hot. My unit on the west side of the building didn't have windows that opened so I had to rely on constantly running the mini split.
Maintenance people also left giant holes in my wall to test for water moisture because other units were leaking. I was told via email this would be repaired but they never did. I had the holes in my wall from August 2023 and moved out in March 2024 with the holes...
