I tried Podi masala dosa here. While the food was good, they put red chilli powder that too a lot instead of indli podi in the dosa. I dont know if its a style but it was extremely spicy and not something i intended to order.I think they should know what podi dosa is before making it a menu item. I have tried the veg combo box, which was pretty filling. The overall store looks pretty good, but i suspect they intentionally jack up prices on stuff people dont notice. Example the morton salt which is usually under 2$ in most store costed 7.99 which i did not notice in the billing. I feel this is intentional mispricing. Also the price of most items are not labelled, which for a store of Mayuri standard they should take care of. Though i love the ambience and open nature of the store, I am a customer out of need for convenience, than a happy one here.

Changing the rating to 1 because of the arrogance of the lady at food section . I ordered a lunch box for first time. After waiting 5mins, asked the lady and she said it’s coming! I waited another 12mins and asked again, then the lady says “oh you ordered lunch box, you have to take from counter”. Upon asking why she couldn’t direct properly earlier, she responds with why did I not ask her ? Are you crazy ? Speaks volumes that this chain does not care about Seattle location ——- Good for Indian groceries considering Seattle doesn’t have full fledged Indian grocery store. The food and cafe section is meh. The gulag jamun in Redmond mayuri were soft , fresh , moderately sweet but this outlet didn’t have them fresh and was extremely sweet. Irani chai is good

After much excitement and anticipation, glad to see Mayuri International finally open in downtown Seattle. They have most essential groceries, but some sections and product varieties are noticeably missing. Prices are higher than suburbs, most items seem 0.5-1 $ higher. A big portion of the store is dedicated to the hot bar and sweet shop, even larger than the Bellevue location. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We tried a Samosa, stuffed gulan jamun and masala chai. Nothing tasted fresh. Samosa has no crisp, must have been sitting for several hours. Gulab jamun was tough and stale. Mayuri should either improve the quality of their prepared food or expand the grocery section to offer a more complete selection like their suburb stores.

Clearly the seattle branch is not at the same bar as the other mayuri branches...in my opinion it would be the worst mayuri branch of all the ones. Grocery section: As other reviews have mentioned the grocery section has been kept very small to make room for the hot bar. Even after ignoring the cramped ailes the ailes are completly unorganized with major popular brands and items out of stock or not refilled in a timely manner. Atleast my experience has been 50% of my grocery list is always out of stock either the item is not available or the item is available in an unfamiliar brand.

Bakery/ sweet section: Have had very bad experience with the bakery items..have tried couple of sweets like stuffed gulab jamun and motichur ladoos and every time these have they are not fresh...one time they ran out of motichur ladoos and got ladoos from a fresh tray still they tasted stale not sure how that happens. The staff behind the counter are also unbothered in the same instance when the tray was finished the person behind the counter said it would be an hour to get it refilled and once I had lapped the store for some other stuff the tray was refilled. I would personally try to avoid getting sweets from this branch.

Hot bar section: this is the best section in the store it also looks like they give major focus on this section too considering the amount of staff and area dedicated to this section. However it would help if the staff is bit more friendly. If you are managing the front counter smiling once in a while would help customer welcomed. Have experienced this couple of time the person on counter does not even make eye contact and keeps talking to other colleagues while taking your order.

Overall I feel mayuri slu has long way to go before they are at same level as other mayuri branches. It feels like they could get rid of one of the 3 sections as there and focus on the 2 which they pick and little bit more professionalism from the staff would help customers feel included. At this point for me mayuri slu is place I would go as...

Negative things Bakery section: Eggless pastries were very dry and hard, and they did not feel fresh at all. Sweets were very dry and hard, and extremely sweet. Only tasted of sugar syrup instead of any flavor of the actual sweet. Sitaphal milkshake was a joke. It tasted weird, not even like a normal shake. And forget about the actual sitaphal taste. Veggie and paneer puff tasted a bit stale, not fresh.

Food section: Vada pav is ridiculously wrongly made. The vada doesn't taste anything like the authentic vada. And the most disappointing thing is that it's served in a bun and not in pav. I mean, being a grocery shop, they did not even get the basics right. Stop serving it if you can't serve vada pav in a pav.

(For a store/chain that has been in this industry for so long, selling such a low quality food is unacceptable. They are behaving as if they are new in this industry and are unaware what should be the standard.)

Grocery section: A lot of common and well-known Indian brands and their regular items are missing in this store. They have many unknown and less popular brands, probably coz they get it cheaper. The quality is not good. The prices are very, very high. In all other grocery stores, in-store prices are low. And If you order online from them, they increase prices by a dollar or so. But in this mayuri, the in-store prices are even higher than those online prices of other stores.

Positive things Food section: Idli, medu vada was good. Sambar tasted very good. Keep these as is. Mini cutlets were very good. Keep...

Worst interaction I have ever had in a checkout. I saw they had jackfruit in “vegetable” section stacked together with all other vegetables. Since jackfruit is eaten both as vegetable (unripe) and fruit (ripe), I thought I’d confirm. Asked the young lady in counter, and man the way she got offended - we don’t care if it was in vegetable section, it’s still fruit - can’t you guess by the name. Tomato is a fruit too but we put it in vegetable section, in my place in India it grows on tree and we eat it as fruit, and I guess some harsh Hindi words exchange given her aggression. Mentioned that I’m holding up the line (when only thing I did was ask a simple question), that she would charge me whatever the price in system is and I don’t need to worry she’s scamming me (I never said anything about it). Got everything but answer to my question.

  1. I’m not Indian, if you guys only expect customer with knowledge on Hindi and what fruit grows in India put it in bold letters outside. 2) I get it you are giving young adults employment, but please teach them about the products you sell (jackfruit knowledge lies a simple google search away) 3) Teach your employees a little customer service or how to speak to another human. 9/20 10:15ish am interaction, if you guys have cameras in store, take some time to look at the it,...
