Metropolitan Deli + Cafe — Restaurant in Seattle

THIS IS NOT A DELI. It’s a mini-mart and sandwich shop. I asked if I could please just buy some slices of provolone (which is one of their cheese choices for sandwiches) and the girl said “no, cheese is portioned.” I thought about buying a sandwich with extra provolone and throwing all the extra stuff away, but that would be wasteful. I asked for a chai and the barista gave me a cup of chai syrup from a box… and then I asked if he could put in milk and he didn’t understand, I asked the manager and she said I should’ve asked for a “chai latte” which isn’t true. Chai is supposed to have a few pumps of the syrup and then milk. It’s a milk tea. I asked if they could add milk and they added half and half. Was too sweet, couldn’t drink it. Service was slow, but understandable due to only one employee present. I am not dinging at all for that. Pandemic reality. Prices also reasonable.

I'm giving only three stars because although the food was decent quality, it was boring. Very boring.

I had the vegetarian sandwich and veggie empanada. Perhaps the reason to come here are the meat sandwiches, and they justify the higher ratings? Perhaps. But if you're looking for a veggie meal, it'll be fine and fill you up, but your taste buds...
